I got it because it'll carry my manfrotto 055CXPRO3. I do mostly landscape and wanted a smaller bag but able to transport a full size tripod. It holds a body, couple extra lenses and filters with room to spare.

I purchased the Shootout Backpack to safely transport my Nikon D7000 and all it's stuff to my son's hockey games and our college tours. I've been very happy with the quality and it's ability to fit my growing photography collection.

I'll know better how it serves me after my shooting trip to South America, it holds all the important gear snug and is a true mini size. I like that since my goal is to have the least amount of space as possible for my gear. It looks like the waterproof sealing is going to be great.

A little cramped. shoulder straps a bit too small to wear over large winter jacket. Enough room for a mid-size DSLR with a long lens (ie 70-200) along with a few extras.

I got this Backpack mainly to take my gear when Cycling, and for transportation to shooting locations, as such is very comfortable, rugged, and seems very well made.

Like all backpacks, its not designed for quick acces to your gear when walking.

I bought the mini size to force myself to carry less gear, as I usually tend to overpack, nevertheless, this "mini" size holds:

1 Canon 5D with Battery Grip (it fits better without the battery grip)
1 Canon 70-200 2.8 L Is with hood
1 Canon 20-70 2.8 L with hood
1 Canon 2x Tele Extender
1 Canon 480 Ex Flash
1 Hv20 Camcorder on one of the side pockets
cable release, batteries, filter pouch, assorted memory cards, cell phone, pen, Mic etc.
1 Tripod (on my first outings I took an old Cullman Magic 2, but it looks like it will carry my full size manfrotto).

after this there is not much space availiable.

I myself am a Billingham shoulder bag lover, will keep them for street shooting.

Protects DSLR and lenss well. Very little room for any extraneous items that you might carry around with you on a hike in the city or the country though. Very durable. Rain cover will not fit if you are carrying a 22 inch tripod, which I do.

I primarily use this backpack to store and transport my SLR/lens. It is roomy and sturdy. Not only can it fit a lot of my gear (fits approximately 3 medium-large lenses + body, with room for flash and smaller lenses), but it also doesn't look too big (looks like a normal-sized backpack).

Although there are some cons regarding this backpack, they are by no means the fault of this product, but simply necessities to protect the camera gear. Here are things I did not expect, and my opinions are why they were like that:

- zippers are hard to open (this is to provide better weather/water sealing -- it really looks like water cannot get through to the inside)

- the entire backpack is rock hard (not soft like school backpacks), making it FEEL really big against your back. (this again, is to provide better cushioning and protection for the camera gear inside).
