The Bower Changing Bag can be a lifesaver. Ever get a roll of film stuck inside a camera? Your batteries go dead and you can't rewind? Or, the film tears off the sprockets and you don't know what to do? By using this bag, your film can be saved, those precious shots can be salvaged - and you save the price of a repair visit. Best part - you don't need a darkroom.
Another use for the changing bag is to wind film on to a developing reel.. If you don't have a real darkroom, a changing bag is the next best thing to a darkened closet. In normal room light, this bag will allow you to roll your film on to the reel. Placing the reel and film inside the double zippered pockets, you can wind your film for development. The black cotton inside material is light-tight while the two access slots or your arms provide adequate space for manipulating the film or camera.

this changing back is really convenient, you just bring it with you wherever you shoot, zip everything inside and you can reload whatever film holders you have.

I reccomend this changing bag. I am a highschool teacher and come up against a lot of film situations with all of my students and this bag is a great help. Students can be using the bag while watching me demonstrate next to them to help them through loading film if they get stuck. It also allows them to load film anywhere. No more need for a designated black out room when there is limited space!

This bag only works in very subdued light. Hold it up to any bright source and you'll see that it is not light proof at all. So it's useless on location to load 4x5 film holders for example. I just wound up with 60 sheets of fogged film thanks to this less than effective item. Horrifying, needless to say.

I bought this bag since I am taking a photography course and needed to develop my own film. Going into a "completely" black room to take film out of the cannister seemed quite archaic to me. This bag is absolutely wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone who is developing their own film and wants to take the stress out of opening their film cannisters.

I have been using my changing bag to load both 35mm and 120 film into paterson tanks for developing.
The bag is large enough to accomodate everything required and line it all up in order of use as to make the whole process easier.
