I just needed an on camera fill light to use when faces were dark - as in backlit. My previous quartz light was wearing out.
Pros & Cons - it is daylight balanced only, so you'll need to use an amber gel to shoot indoors at 3200K or a light green with cool white florescent tubes. The LEDs have a very tight beam which is useful to give a little sparkle 10 feet away, but will need diffusion if used close-up.
This is a reasonable price for an LED on camera fill light. I'd been holding off because everything was above my wince point, then along comes this little beast. At this price you can afford to lose it, step on it or whatever.
BTW, mine uses 2 AAA NiMH batteries, not 3.

As long as your expectations are limited, you may be satisfied as the light provided is quite limited. But otherwise, the product is as advertised and works.
My goal was to add a dollop of light to recording performances in dimly lit poetry clubs to make videos of my readings for YouTube. I first used the unit with an Aiptek GLS HD mini-vid cam and didn't get what I needed for the following reason: The camera doesn't zoom back to a very wide angle (maybe 35mm equivalent in 35mm camera terms). So when I got the camera far enough away to capture more than my face and shoulders, it was too far away for the Bescor to add any meaningful light.
I exchanged the camera for another (Samsung TL320) with a 24mm equivalent wide angle and another half f-stop of sensitivity, and now can place the camera with light attached to a bracket close enough to the stage to both show most of me and add noticeable light.
In other words, don't expect much illumination beyond 6' and you may get what you need (but still not a tremendous amount of light).
Since the next step up I found is three times the size and more than double the price, I'm sticking with this unit for now. If I decide I need more light and buy a bigger unit, I may use this one as an accent light placed on its own tripod to add a bit of modeling from another angle.
It does seem to take awhile to fully charge, btw.....

This is a decent light, but it is what it is... a light for casual videography around the house and such. I do like the fact that it uses standard AAA re-chargable batteries. It's quite bright for its size using 5 LED's (the wonder of LED technology). The light is kind of chinzy feeling, especially around the cold-shoe mount, but what do you expect for under $20? Like I said, it is what it is... a good light for 'light' usage around the house.

Originally, I wanted to use this piece on my FX1000 for "in crowd" shots so I don't blind everyone with my HVL-20DW2 light. It can do this to an extent but the has a very visible light orb that can be distracting unles u zoom up to at least 50mm. It's lightweight, flimsy, and the light has a blueish tone in it.
I'll probably wind up using it for my Koday zi8 instead.

Although I don't use this light for shooting yet, I'm finding it very useful to just have around. Last week I was filming in a dimly lit theatre and this little light saved me. I'm just gonna keep it with my gear and use it whenever needed.

It arrived with one bulb not functioning. The charger unit only works with 110 Volts, so it will not work in overseas locations with 220 volts.

Bought this light to supplement the lighting in a large room where I work. (Nursing care facility)The room has very yellow floors and I am always filling in with flash or other lighting to balance the light. For this it works fine if you are with in 5-8 feet of your subject any farther back and it does not make a difference. I am using it with a Sanyo HD1010 camcorder. I charged it for about four hours per the instructions. Would like there to be some sort of indicator on the charger when the light is fully charged. Like perhaps the light should go out. It doesn't do this so I can not tell after a few uses how much charger time I should give it. Other than that it works fine.

It's small and makes my camera look good. I think this will come in handy if I film inside a dark night club. The batteries are rechargeable so you just plug the light into the adapter. The bracket is nice it came with also. It has a handle and another spot to put an additional light.

Poor Quality in workmanship. It was DOA but even if it worked, it would have not lasted long. Don't Buy!

This product does a great job for those lousy filming locations. Nice bright output, and a power switch and battery charger are included. It was easy to mount on the Canon HD20.

Nice light, runs fine on 2 AA batteries or the rechargable ones it comes with. Only drawback it the blueish LED light, you have to adjust your wb to correct it. Other then that its a real nice light.

Pretty decent light. On full charged batteries, it provides good illumination. Light becomes compacted when subject being filmed is close to camera.

Comments about Bescor LED-14 14-watt LED On Camera Light:
Generally I like to say positive things about equipment or nothing at all. But this is essentially a little piece of junk. The output is similar to a 5 bulb flashlight... [practically useless for anything further away than about a foot or two - without gain up...] It projects a rather useless spot in the center third of the frame at wide angle [35mm lens equivalent] on an HDV camera. It doesn't fill the frame until you zoom out to about 6X !!! There is no way to aim it. 2AAA batteries last only about 40-45 min. It's a mystery why it even exists... I suppose it might have some use off-camera on a stand to boost edge hair highlights for interviews if placed no more that 2-3 feet from subject... Gag.!!! Feh!!!

Has a color close to daylight. Does not tilt so on the Z7 it points a little high for close shots. Uses the supplied rechargeable or common AAA batteries. Also a great flashlight to see down into the bottom of your camera bag.
