This product does work great, and does it's job... but you might not know that if you are just now purchasing a Merlin rig, that there is one included with the Merlin, so you may not need to buy it.

I needed a mounting plate adapter to mount a video projector on a tripod. I glued the plate adapter to a plexiglass plate which can now be used to support my video projector as well as other accessories.

Use this product to quickly go from merlin shooting, to tripod shooting without having to remove the merlin mounting plate from the camera.
I purchased this even though an adaptor plate comes with the most recent merlin kit, to use on a second tripod.
Is contructed very sturdily, would recommend to any merlin user that does not already have one.
