Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
Use this for all applications and it fails at all of them. It may be sturdy enough for a very small point and shoot, but definitely can't support the 2.5 pounds (nearly the exact weight of my 550D). The pointy feet also tend to sink into soft surfaces, like soil.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
This is a well designed, light tripod well suited for travel with a small to medium size photo camera. The best are: light weight, simple folding/unfolding and small size, that allows to have a functional support for picture taking. I did not like the way it had been lubricated, the lubricant will stain your hands! be carelul, but better, etend the legs and wipe them well the lubricant off! Light wind is all it may take since it is not very rigid, but remember: it is all you should expect for its size and weight. I'm realistic and not trying to compare it to larger products.

This tripod is a bust. I am very disappointed that one of the legs is unable to stay extended, and the swivel head sticks. I need to return this product.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
I bought this to replace a Vivitar tripod of a similar design I bought in 1976 or so. The Vivitar had almost no plastic on it, ands has been useful for mounting snapshot cameras while on backpacking trips for all these years. This looked as close to the design of the original as I could find. The build quality and materials aren't nearly as good, but for the price I shouldn't be complaining. The plastic screw that holds the camera to the tripod broke on first use, so I replaced it with the all metal one from my old Vivitar. It looks like this will hold up for a few years. Unfortunately, there is nothing else available that will pack this small and yet will rise as tall.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
I would just use this tripod to take pictures of me and my friends... The only thing great about it is its size. I went to tilt it down a little bit and the part where the camera screws onto just came out stuck to my camera... ya... I do not know how to describe it besides this tripod is not durable.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
I used this tripod for long exposure pictures and it couldn't remain steady. The ballhead design is good but the tightening device is brittle and on my fourth or fifth attempt to keep the camera steady it snapped! The legs were also a problem because they bend to any amount of pressure, I had to keep extending the legs while trying to set up my shot. This piece of equipment is worthless, spend a bit more money for something better
I was shooting with a canon rebel XTI, 18-50mm lens... Not a very big machine!

Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
This tripod is exactly what I thought it was-- light weight, light duty, and a little flimsy. I can't say I was disappointed, but I can see how it wouldn't take much to bend a leg to the point that it wouldn't collapse any more. Also, the ballhead on mine will not lock completely. Althought it doesn't seem to shift on its own, it takes very little effort to move it even when "locked".
Having said all that, this is one of the better travel/mini tripods I have ever handled (especially for the price). Not professional equipment, but perfect for taking on vacation/travel/hiking where you will only be occasionally using it with a point and shoot or compact DSLR. The legs are designed to lock very well, and the size can't be beat--I have lenses bigger than this thing! This is not going to replace any of my other equipment, but I carry this when I would normally forgo a tripod because of size and weight.
It is what it is. Now if they could re-engineer the ballhead.

Comments about Davis & Sanford Mini Traveler Tripod with Ballhead - Supports 2.5 lbs (1.1kg):
This is truely a great product. I was a little weary when I bought it because it's only [$] and the you never really can tell what you are getting from a picture. I was pleasently surprised when it came. It is very small and is true to its name the "Mini Traveler". It has an all metal build with decent quality, especially for [$]. The legs pull out quickly and smoothly and lock tightly with just a twist. The head is a ball design, which I don't love. It is not the tightest locking head out there, but for most situations will certainly get the job done. I was really skeptical about putting my Nikon D90 with a big 18-200mm lens on it, but it actually held up very well considering its size. Make no mistake, it is not as sturdy as bigger, heavier duty tripods. But it is also a third of the size if not smaller, and was solid enough not to give me worry. I wouldn't put my camera on it and run off too far, but it works. I gave this tripod 5 stars because for the price, the size and stability are very good, and it comes with a small bag to carry it in. I would highly recommend this tripod for photographers who have small-medium size dSLR and travel a lot. It will hold any point and shoot no problem. Overall I believe this is a great product, for a great price.

We do an extensive amount of traveling. The Mini Traveler Tripod is perfect. It is compact enough so that packing / carrying it around is no problem. When fully extended, it remains solid w/o any wobble. This product is a great buy!
