Davis & Sanford Quick Release Plate for Vista Explorer Tripod
This Davis and Sanford Quick Release Plate fits the Vista Explorer head, and features a rubberized surface, with 1/4"-20 camera screw and video pin.
The quick release plate can be kept attached to the camera's base at all times, and allows the user to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from the tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.
Note! This QR Plate can substitute for the Velbon QB-4W

I have a Sony DCR-HC96 and use it with the sony tripod VCT-60AV.
My daughter used the tripod with her camera and did not keep the release plate with the tripod when she finished with it. Thanks to the other reviewers I took a chance and orderd 2 of these. They fit and they are reasonably priced. Thank you B&H photo. Chag Sameach.

The quick release on my Targus TGT-58TR tripod cracked, rendering the tripod unusable.
I looked in a local mega-electronics chain, I looked on the manufacturer website, I looked in the large online retailers.
This is what I was looking for. It is identical to the one that failed, just made with darker plastic.
I am glad that B&H came through when others wouldn't.
Something so simple and essential shouldn't be so hard to find.

It does exactly what it was made to do. The best thing about it is the fact that it is really secure & fits like a glove. The plate actually feels more secure than the one that came with the tripod. It also fits my velbon in conjunction with my Sony tripod.

I bought a Sony tripod a few years ago but lost the quick release plate that came with it. I was ordering from B&H a couple weeks ago and decided to purchase this so I could use that tripod again. It was only [$] so I didn't have high hopes for it working but decided to give it a shot. It works just about as well as the quick release plate that came with the Sony tripod. It attaches to the camera very well and fits securely into the tripod. My only negative comment is that it does stay in the tripod well but getting it into the tripod does take some getting used to. It does not slide in quite as easily as the original quick release plate. Not a big negative though. Sure beat buying a whole new tripod.

Although this Davis & Sanford DAQRPVE quick release plate was not specifically designed for the Velbon tripod, BHPhoto site said that it should fit, so I bought it anyway. I was relieved that it did fit precisely into my Velbon tripod, so I finally can use my tripod again. At such a low price [...] it was a great deal.
