O Audio-Technica AT2020USB é um microfone condensador com boa relação custo-benefício com um conector USB para integração direta com computadores Windows e Mac. Podcasting, gravação em estúdio e outras aplicações de gravação em estúdio são obtidas com excelentes resultados, baixo ruído e qualidade excepcional. A cápsula possui baixa massa de 16mm, diafragma de endereçamento lateral com um padrão polar cardióide.
O padrão cardióide é eficaz na rejeição da ambiência e ruído nas seções fora do eixo da cápsula do microfone. Sua resposta de freqüência linear de 20Hz a 16kHz permite a flexibilidade necessária para reproduzir com precisão sinais provenientes de qualquer fonte. É capaz de suportar um alto SPL, além de oferecer uma faixa dinâmica que permite que o AT2020USB capture sinais altos com um mínimo de ruído e distorção. This microphone is great because you take it out of the box plug it in and that is it, you are ready to record in seconds! I would definitely recommend getting a shock mount for sure, a pop filter, and some type of stand. This microphone pics up any noise that is why i would definitely get a shock mount if you cant get anything else because if the microphone moves you will here it that is the only bad thing about it which is not even that bad. When you are recording make sure you are in a quite place as well.

I got this microphone for skype conference use, with the intention to make some youtube home-studio recordings later. The first time I used it, everyone commented that it was a night-and-day difference form my old microphone.
The pickup is good from a foot or two away, so I may not need to use my pop filter at all with this one.
The desk tripod works well, and I can set it aside and unplug the usb cable when I'm not using the microphone.

This mic was so very inexpensive yet performs very well. Keep in mind that it is a cardioid pattern therefore proximity matters quite a bit. I must say that I'm still a bit stunned by the quality of the recordings of the spoken word. Great mic for this purpose.

I had originally bought a pair of Samson CO1U condenser microphones and ended up returning them after attempting to record a piano only to find an incredible amount of noise. I tried to tweak the settings of the recording software for over an hour to no avail. So I tried a pair of AT2020USB's and found a night and day difference! The gain on the AT2020USB is a little on the sensitive side, giving some pretty harsh distortion when you go beyond the threshold. But once I had all of the levels just right, they sounded amazing! The AT2020USB may be a little more expensive than the CO1U, but the AT2020USB is far more superior in both sound and build quality. I can confidently say you will not be disappointed!
