The ATH-ANC3 in-ear headphones from Audio-Technica provide excellent sound quality and active noise cancellation in a compact and lightweight package. The earphones provide isolation from external noise in two ways. First, the snug in-ear fit acts as an earplug to block out noise. Multiple sizes of eartips are included so you can find the best fit. Second, advanced electronics actively listen to incoming sounds, and create an opposite wave to neutralize the sound before it reaches your ear. This effectively reduces ambient noise by up to 85 percent.
The noise-cancellation feature can be turned on and off using the in-line control. The noise-cancellation mode requires a single AAA battery for power, though the earphones can be used in passive mode without a battery installed. Neodymium drivers in each earpiece provide clear, lifelike sound with a wide frequency range. The cable has a standard mini plug for wide device compatibility.
