The Canon Eg Anti-Fog Eyepiece fits the EOS-1D Mark III and EOS-1Ds Mark III cameras and uses specially treated advanced-process glass which prevents condensation or fogging. It is designed for use in warm and humid or cold weather, when fogging is most likely to occur.

It works as billed and it does take extra TLC to preserve coating (as Canon says)

Prior to installing the anti-fog eyepiece I would often not be able to see clearly through the viewfinder. My breathe (accidentally) would fog the eyepiece. At my last winter shot, this did not happen. I am not sure how long the anti-fog protection will work, but for the moment I am a happy camper.

Replaces the original eyepiece perfectly. Works as described. You do loose a little bit of viewfinder light though but not much. I use it spring fall when its cold in the mornings.
