• HDMI Output with 1080p HD Video Upconversion: This unit utilizes a high-bandwidth video processor that's capable of upconverting standard DVDs to 720p, 1080i and 1080p HD through the HDMI output. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable.

• ATSC/NTSC/QAM TV Tuners: It offers a built-in ATSC, NTSC, and QAM TV tuners, capable of receiving and recording your favorite broadcast TV shows. In addition, it features Channel Add/Erase (Skip), Channel Auto Search, and Channel Memory functionality.

• Super Multi-Format DVD Recording: Record your favorite shows onto DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM discs; and it records up to 5 recording modes and Time Shift recording capability with DVD-RAM discs.

• Built-In Dolby Digital Decoder: With a built-in Dolby Digital decoder, it reproduces surround sound fidelity and sonic realism from your favorite movie soundtracks. It's capable of advanced 16-bit processing and a sampling frequency of 48KHz.

• Front-Panel DV (IEEE) Input: With front DV (IEEE) and analog A/V (RCA) inputs, you can plug your camcorder or other devices directly into a recorder without having to pull it out of your entertainment center and messing with the rear inputs.

• USB Host Input: Plug your USB flash drive directly into the player's front-panel USB Host port to play your favorite MP3 songs and view your JPEG images. You could actually use the RC897T to share your favorite music and photos with friends and family at your next gathering.

• Progressive Scan Technology: This is a progressive scan DVD player, capable of scanning an entire video frame at once; scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video are drastically reduced. The result is a spectacularly clear image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping), and details so sharp they seem as if they're etched onto the screen.

• HD Component Video Output: The RC897T achieves greater color accuracy and high resolution playback capability when connected via the HD component video output to your projector, plasma and/or LCD/CRT televisions. It's capable of outputting 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i video signals through the component output.

• Home Theater Friendly: Use the optical or coaxial digital audio outputs to connect the recorder to your home theater receiver and enjoy your favorite DVDs in surround sound.

• Set-Top Box Controller: Enjoy the ability to control your digital cable/satellite set-top box with an optional IR Blaster; it's capable of controlling channel functions of most cable set-top boxes or satellite receivers for timer recording.

• Multi-Format Capability: It offers a full-range of playback capabilities for enjoying movies, music and images. It can play back DVD-Video, DVD-R/W, DVD+R/W, DVD-RAM, CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA, and JPEG.

• LG SimpLink Connectivity: This is a convenient feature that offers linked operation (through the HDMI connection) of this unit and other LG SimpLink components. When connected, you can turn on your unit and television, and start playing a disc in the play position with a single press of a button.

• DVD File Management and Editing Features: This unit offers Playlist/Disc Name, Title Divide, Delete Title/Chapter/A-B, Thumbnail Still Displays, Thumbnail Motion Preview, Auto Chapter Marking and Bi-Directional Dubbing editing features.
