Manfrotto 503LV Pan Handle
The Manfrotto 503LV pan handle is designed to work for the 3460/503 Fluid head. This pan handle can be used as a replacement or to turn the head into a dual handle studio type head.
Note! Not compatible with 503HDV head. The 519LV handle is compatible with 503HDV.

I use this with my Manfrotto 501 pan head for live video recording within my church. It has improved the overall smoothness of panning/tilting features due to it's extending handle giving me better leverage.
The 503 pan handle unfortunately does not immediately fit the 501 head, so you have to switch the original 501 pan handle base adapter with the 503 base adapter, which leaves you with only one handle (if you were hoping to use two handles like I did).
Overall, though, it is a dramatic improvement to my needs.

We couldn't be happier that you can purchase a replacement for the pan handle. We shoot dozens of hours of video on a weekly basis, and the teeth wear out quickly on the tripod pan handles. Even though this only solves half of the problem (the other half of the teeth are on the tripod head), it still improves traction and functionality for a fraction of the cost of getting a new head. It's quick and easy to replace with important results.
