Very sturdy. Like kicking the tires on a new car I did handle the dolly more ruggedly then I normally would. I like the idea the the wheels lift off the ground and the dolly stands on legs. I have the Bogen / Manfrotto 501HDV,055XBK Tripod System so it's a perfect fit. I trust my XHA1 on the dolly.

Bad design
Doesn't work on carpet! Have to cut breaks to make them shorter, better to use with weight.

Comments about Manfrotto 127VS Variable Leg Spread Portable Dolly (Black):
Secure tripod legs perfectly, adjustable locks are reliable and this dolly can go through any door easily. Center lock works great if adjusted correctly.
Dolly does not roll well on carpet but I knew before getting it. To fix the break problem, I opened the wheels and add 2 washers ($3 total). I also added 12 skate dolly wheels and got dolly track ($100 total online). It makes perfect smooth cinematic motion, like Kessler dollies (from $700).

Comments about Manfrotto 127VS Variable Leg Spread Portable Dolly (Black):
Great and easy to use. Like many have said, the locks hang on carpet. It does not look like a grinder will solve the problem. It works for me, but you must use care when rolling on any carpet into which the wheels will sink into.

Comments about Manfrotto 127VS Variable Leg Spread Portable Dolly (Black):
Construction is great, and if used in a completele flat and polished floor, results are great. It doesn't fold that much, and as many said the brakes are too close to the floor. If you roll it on any surface where it gets vibration (obvious, recording would be completely useful) but watch for the nuts, and bolts as they fall down.

Comments about Manfrotto 127VS Variable Leg Spread Portable Dolly (Black):
Having just set up a new studio, this inexpensive dolly was just what we needed to give us smooth moving shots in the studio. The width adjustment allowed us to fit a variety of tripods, and the ability to raise the dolly off the wheels for a lockdown shot is helpful; although, I wish the pegs we a little higher when rolling on carpet.

Comments about Manfrotto 127VS Variable Leg Spread Portable Dolly (Black):
I agree with one of the reviewers that the brakes are too close to the ground so it will even get caught on very short carpet. That might not be big deal for a lot of people, but if you are using it on location (office location), not all clients will have cement or hardwood floors. But all in all it's portable and it's one of the better cheaper alternatives to professional movie dollies. Plus I love the fact that I can put a ball/fluid head right on it for very low shots.

Great product for the price. I purchased 127 before and exchange to 127VS, which offers more adjustments (level of stabilty and tripod legs spreading), takes less space, and can be packed for traveling.

I use the dolly to prevent tripod movement and tipping within the house
and for easy tripod movement with Telephoto Lenses, particularly heavy
lenses outside.

for shooting in all types of moble condition
The ease of assembly and the extention of the legs
The stoppers for the floor are too long and catch on rugs when dollying, rubber straps that hold tripod legs to dolly, not strong enough for the long hall of use
