Comments about Manfrotto 181 Folding Auto Dolly:
It's very hard to control the movement of this dolly. I used it once (on a flat surface). Never again. You have to get a running start to get the wheels to go in the right direction, then you might get 2 seconds of stable video before it drifts in the wrong direction.

Comments about Manfrotto 181 Folding Auto Dolly:
I bought this dolly together with a Manfrotto 028B STUDIO PRO TRIMAN TRIPOD. They are working together perfectly. The dolly moves so smoothly that you want to push the whole stuff around and around in your studio all day. Great quality!
There is something what is not a real drawback but something you need to keep in mind. If your tripod is not able to stretch its legs to a very wide position then you will need to pull the legs out and raise the tripod up to about chest level in order to make the legs fit into the attachment points of the dolly. So when you need to shoot from significantly lower then eye-level, you will need to remove the tripod from the dolly - takes too much time.
Anyway, this is a great and high quality stuff when you need mobility in the studio without sacrifying the stability.

Comments about Manfrotto 181 Folding Auto Dolly:
This dolly is nice, but you really need to use it on a super smooth floor, ie, smooth concrete, marble or tight carpet. I found more then once that my foot would catch the locking mechanism and ruin my shot. But ya I like it.

This thing is nice, beside the fact that it makes any tripod look ten times better, plus it is very light weight and really really easy to move around even with the camera already mounted

Comments about Manfrotto 181 Folding Auto Dolly:
The protduct it self is a fine one, but for the ways I had planned to use it, it has limited me. I would have rather had a Dolly that could be adjusted. There is no way to make it smaller if you have a tight spot you need to move through. If you have plenty of space I recommend this product, if not or not sure where you may be traveling, you may want to check into one that is more versitile.
