Manfrotto 500BALL 100mm Ball Leveler for 3141, 3190, 3191, 3192 & 3193 Tripods
The Manfrotto 500BALL 100mm Ball Leveler is designed to facilitate quick leveling of the 3141, 3190, 3191, 3192 & 3193 tripods, and has a 3/8"-16 threaded screw. It can also be used with the Gitzo G-1424 100mm Bowl Interface Adapter to provide an economical and low profile levelling base with any of the Gitzo Series 4 & 5 "systematic" tripods (which feature an interchangeable top plate that accepts rapid or geared center columns as well as levelling bases).

I got a good deal on some used tripod legs on an auction site, and needed an adapter to mount a used fluid head on it. Works great, fit perfectly! It's also a lot less expensive than other ball head adapters out there, which helps.

Even though I'm using a Manfroto 501 head (flat base) on a set of Cartoni legs, the adaptor works like a charm. No more fussing with the length of the individual legs to affect the level - one qucik twist-level-countertwist operation and I'm ready to shoot. The time savings really add up. ...and you look more professional. Since it screws on to the base of the head, you can change the product out to different heads and legs or remove it completely in a snap should you need a flat base.

This item works perfectly with my Manfrotto tripod and Manfrotto hi-hat. The grip allows for a tight twist, locking the leveler into position. It is exactly what I was looking for.

If you're on a budget and want to buy good tripod legs but can't quite afford an expensive pro fluid head yet (almost all are half-bowl mount), this adapter will let you mount a less expensive flat-base head like the 501/503 series on good sticks till you're ready to move up. Getting the camera or camcorder and head level with a bowl-mount tripod is so much easier than adjusting leg lengths, once you get one, you'll wonder why you wasted time with a flat mount model.

I used this to connect a 501 head to 515 legs. I like that when using this you do not have to level the pod by adjusting the legs. You can just swivel this into place.
