I am an architectural photographer shooting digital and 4x5. It is much faster and easier than anything I have used for quick leg adjustments, especially on uneven surfaces. Studio stand style height adjustability for a decent distance.
However extending the lower legs is nearly impossible with a camera on the tropod. It takes 2 hands.
Add a gear head and you have an awesome set. But heavy, that doesn't bother me, but it may be too much for some. On the other hand that weight can be an asset for stability.

We bought this product because it has the red easy adjust buttons. We already have an old one. We bought a new one because the red levers broke on the old one and we have had it repaired several times.
When the new one came the red buttons were broken in the box. We ordered another new one and the 2nd tripod has a leg that doesn't drop down with the other 2 legs. How frustrating!!! So we are sending back the 1st new one and we are trying to fix the 2nd new tripod. WE NEED IT.

This thing is awesome, but, for the price, I feel like it should be more user-friendly. I don't really dig the flimsy, burgandy-colored, plastic controls.
I highly recommend that you combine this with the Manfrotto 322RC2 Grip Action Ball Head. Then you're really cookin' with gas!
It's kinda funny that my tripod/head are worth almost as much as my camera body. I just had to have this combo. It's a huge time saver when photographing different products all day long.

Another Sandy Puc recommendation!!! So sturdy, very heavy, but seeing that I am going from a very lightweight inexpensive tripod, I am so in awe!!! It's huge and heavy and the controls definitely are taking some getting used to, but it is exactly what I wanted and needed!!! I am hoping with more use, like Sandy said, it wil gain some fluidity. Otherwise with the 222 joystick head it is quite the show stopper!

I use this tripod to shoot architecture and interiors. It's very solid allowing for exact alignment of images when blending exposure. The automatic legs are very helpful for changing heights and leveling tripod. The only con is the center support rods that have to be screwed down and unscrewed when folding legs.

I am a professional photographer and use this for my studio sessions. I just got it recently and I love the idea of how low to the ground it can go with a touch of a button. It is very stiff once you take it out of the box, though, and it doesn't move up and down very easily right now. I struggle with it a bit, but I've heard that once you "wear it in", it will glide around with ease.

This is my first Manfrotto tripod set... and I LOVE it! The trigger is a little "tight" to squeeze but I am thinking that it will loosen up the more I use it. Very versatile, exactly what I was looking for. Although, it is pretty heavy... but quality is worth it! Hauling this around will work on my pipes! :)

Dependable, strong, sturdy tripod. I purchased this new tripod after I accidentally destroyed my first one that I owned for nearly 15 years.

we're using it for low light interiors and taking multiple shots then stiching them together
The quick release legs make is super easy to position on uneven ground. You can get really low for interesting angles. Carry strap means you can lug it around sites easily.
It's solid and will last forever

This replaces a carbon fiber tripod for my 4x5 and medium format cameras. It is extremely solid and well constructed. A very stable platform for the heavy cameras.

Comments about Manfrotto 058B Aluminum Studio Pro Triaut Tripod Legs:
Sturdy Fast Tall. That's the full name of these legs. I have been eyeing it for a while and after testing it at a local camera store, I purchased it. I do Wedding Videography and the way I shoot when a bride comes down the aisle, I'm crouched down low in front then when she gets close I move out to the side and set up to a higher viewing angle. I used to have to undo all my legs but with this I now literally just squeeze a couple buttons/levers and the whole thing pulls right up to standing height. Takes about 3 seconds! No fiddling with latches and levers or doing one leg at a time. Just squeeze and pull the whole thing up and your done! LOVE IT! Of course these legs are sturdy too but a HUGE added bonus was that when I do have a moment and want to set this tripod up to shoot really high up, there are additional adjustments that can be made to bring it up to like 7 or 8 feet. SO NICE! At full height I have to stand on a chair and even then its almost too tall when fully extended. I love that! It is a bit heavy but then again most big sturdy tripods are so it doesn't bother me really and I don't feel like its gonna break on me. I have used Davis & Sanford tripods for a long time so I purchased a FM18 fluid head to go on top for REALLY cheap compared to similar Manfrotto heads and it works great! As for a case, I got a 45" padded case that works great. So far, so good!

This Tripod sets up much faster than my Gitzo and is very sturdy. although it does not ooze of quality like my Gizto there really is not anything in particular I can fault it for other than the extension legs that can be pulled out are a bit flimsy but they do seem to get the job done if you need the crazy height.the crank that raises and lowers the column is smooth and operates nicely, this is my favorite feature of this tripod.this thing is big and heavy so just be aware of the weight before purchase. For the price this peice of equipment is well worth it!I personally would have paid just a bit more for slightly better hardware hence the 4 stars and not five.

Used in studio for portraiture. Bought because it was recommended to me by a well known pro for it's versatility and ease of use.
Great buy, no more having to un tighten and tighten 3 knobs and legs to change shooting height and angles. Now it's just a simple push of the fingers and it goes where I want it.
Not great is the weight but that also makes it sturdy in the wind.
It gets 4 stars because of the weight factor.

I use this tripod primarily for shooting anything outdoors, daylight or low light. It's a professional, rock-solid tripod and I use it primarily for shooting weddings. Once you get the hang of it, you can raise and lower the tripod without having to undo lock nuts or levers.I recommend getting the pistol grip for it as that's what I use[@]

This is the best thing since sliced bread. And I really like sliced bread. The leg release system is a game changer in my opinion and if you're on a shoot alone, this is your new best friend.
The large spread mentioned by the other reviewer is in error. You can adjust the spread of these legs however you want. The built-in spreader has lock down screws for you to tighten and make it rock solid.
I really wanted a bowl head for my new tripod, but this levels just as fast if not better. It's a little tricky if you don't unlock the spreader, but other than that raising and lowering is a dream.
The lower legs are twist locked in place and not as easy to release as I'd like, but that's a minor detail. You need two hands to put this tripod to its full height. It has about 30 inches of travel using the leg release system.
I'm a little worried at the build quality of the red levers at the top to release the legs, but I've got 4 years of warranty so it shouldn't be an issue. Someone who tries to muscle the levers in the wrong direction might break them.
Overall this is just an amazing tripod and I like the heavy weight of it because people won't knock it over as easily.

When you pay so much for your camera and lens you want it sitting on something substantial that you know won't blow over in a little breeze. This is the tripod you need, it is easy to use with full hydraulic adjustable legs. You can combine which head you use but I suggest the 808RC4 3 way panhead

Comments about Manfrotto 058B Aluminum Studio Pro Triaut Tripod Legs:
If what prevents or bothers you using a tripod is it is too cumbersome to change heights or level the legs, this gem may change how you work. It is an excellent tripod for on location and studio.
The absolute best thing about this tripod is how fast you can set it up and change heights. The lever system is wonderful. I can change from a sitting to a standing portrait as fast as the subject can change positions and be level with rock solid support. With a few seconds of tweaks, I can have it zeroed on the built in level. A few clients have even commented on how fast I could change it up. Also great on location because it is so easy to adjust each leg. I have shot on a rocky seawall easily because I could put the legs in a spot and level the tripod out in seconds. The geared column and extra extension in the feet (not levered) are bonuses to get a high perspective.
In the studio, I mount this on bogen's rolling dolly and I have a pro-grade solution. It does have a wider spread than perhaps some other options so keep that in mind if working in a small studio.
Cons, it is not light weight or super compact so treking it out into the middle of a field for a shoot can be a little taxing. Throw it over your shoulder and it's doable but this is not a light weight, flimsy or carbon fiber tripod. Likewise, no way you are taking this on a plane. Cheaper and easier to get a travel carbon fiber.
Highly recommended.

I work in conditions that are never the same and when working with kids you need something fast. This tripod is fantastic in that I can adjust it in lightening speed on any terrain. Can't recommend this enough. Also get the manfrotto 222 head and you have a winning team. It is heavy but I think that is perfect for stability. I LOVE MINE!!!
