The Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate is a low profile plate for the RC4 quick release system. It is larger than Manfrotto's standard RC2 system's plate, and it comes supplied with both 1/4"-20 and 3/8" threaded screws. Its screw travels along a 2" grooved slot, to better accommodate professional cameras of different dimensions.
Replaces old part number 3271.

This is exactly what I needed. Since I have multiple cameras, having several quick release plates--one for each camera--it makes it much easier to switch cameras in the field.

Comments about Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate - for RC4 Quick Release System:
Instead of just using the RC$ that came with the head, this was purchased to make it easier to attach the 70-200mm and 400 mm lenses instead of taking the extra time to unmount and mount another lens or camera.
Not a necessity, but for convenience, it saves some time and your not fumbling for a coin to tighten or loosen.

This thing is heavy duty. Bottom can thumbscrew, but you should have a screwdriver or coin handy to tighten it. Includes two removable screw mounts. This thing is BIG. If you have say, a 5D Mark II or smaller, this thing will stick out, somewhat uncomfortable, into your left hand. Hopefully, I'll get over this, but I haven't used it enough to be sure if it's a big deterant.

Comments about Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate - for RC4 Quick Release System:
Well I bought the Manfrotto 410PL Quick release plate from B&H because I misplaced my original plate. I ordered it, and within minutes I got a receipt through email with a verification that my Item was purchased and getting ready to ship. They continued to let me know, with an email, the day of that they shipped my package and gave me an estimated time arrival. Everything came in on time and right to my door, with UPS. When I opened up the package, everything was how it ought to be. Packaged, sealed, and neat. Opened up the bad boy like a kid waiting for his new fire truck for Christmas! Everything came as the picture had shown. The quality and everything was excellent, even better grip than the original! Thank you very much B&H for a great customer service and quality! WIll definitely be buying more products from here in the near future!

Exactly the one that comes with any Manfrotto RC4 head. Purchased to have as a secondary one when using multiple cameras on one tripod. Comes with both 1/4 and 5/8 mounting screws. After two weeks I cant tell which one is the new one and which one is the old one, Manfrotto products hold up extremely well. You do have to use a swiss army knife or a coin to secure it to the camera but this is not a problem at all.

Very secure mounting. Two screws provided -- 1/4" and 3/8" -- is a plus. Can be tricky to put on the head sometimes with a large camera (Mamiya RZ67), better with a DSLR.

Comments about Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate - for RC4 Quick Release System:
I have an RC808 head for which I ordered an additional release plate. I keep one release plate attached to my camera and the other to the lens ring of my Sigma 150mm macro lens. This way, it is a snap to change the lens.
The best thing about this release plate design is that you don't have to fiddle with clamping the camera on the tripod. You slide the straight edge of the release plate into the head on the tripod and press to snap it tight.
You should remember, however, not to close the lever on the head once the release plate is out of the head. Twice, I have made that mistake and got frustrated about putting the camera on the tripod.

The QR4 quick release plate/system works great in the field. I have been using mine for over 5 years with no problems. It provides a solid , locked in security and is perfect match for a ball head. It is heavy duty and built to last.

The plate removes very easily, which is good because it is very small....it really only holds a couple of bites of food. But that's OK - just release it, load it back up with mashed taters or apple pie or whatever, clamp it back to the tripod and chow down. Seems to be dishwasher safe.

Comments about Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate - for RC4 Quick Release System:
I count myself lucky to have and use the wonderful newly designed Manfrotto 808RC4 tripod head. An outstanding product. But I hasten to add that the "icing on the cake" is the 410PL RC4 Quick Release plate.
This plate is no delicate little princess that perches gingerly on the tripod head. It's big and strong, and locks into place with all the certainty and sound effects of the steel barred gates of prison (as seen on TV). ;-)
Like the 808RC4, the QR plate is beautifully made, and has a large base - quite suitable for my large format field cameras. The lock/release lever is muscular, and it has a fool proof double action lever, guarding against accidental release.
If you have more than one camera, it is quite economically priced and you will be more than delighted when each of your cameras has its own plate fitted, and you hear that solid 'kerlunk' as the plate engages the head when you move from one camera to another.
This is a good plate, for a good system.

I pruchased three of the quick release plate, so that I could use one of three cameras quickly. They have helped in the stabilization each camera and with the quick mounting.
