Comments about Quantum Instruments Qflash Model T5D-R Flash Kit - with Turbo SC Battery & Charger:
Overall, I'd probably think twice before purchasing the Qflash again. My biggest problem with it is that when it is powered off and mounted on my Nikon D3s, it locks the camera up and the camera can't be used.
I've confirmed this with Quantum and their only solution was to have me disable the flash using the menu system on the rear of the flash. This creates several situations for me that I'm uncomfortable with: 1) I now have to have the Qflash powered on ALL of the time for my Nikon D3s to function and 2) Even with the flash disabled in its own menu system, the max shutter speed I can shoot at is locked in at 1/250s unless I enable high-speed sync. I'm not particularly satisfied with either situation.
Honestly, I've used a number of flash units and every one of them, when powered off, was "invisible" to the camera. I don't know how Quantum managed to screw this one up.
To be fair, the other aspects of the flash are fine. I just wish that there had been a notice somewhere that it has problems on a Nikon D3s so I wouldn't have purchased it.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Qflash Model T5D-R Flash Kit - with Turbo SC Battery & Charger:
After reading Snickerdoodle's review I seem to have encountered the faulty flash syndrome as well. Even on a full Quantum Turbo Battery as the indicator shows, I get a loud beep which is embarrassing during a wedding ceremony. I fired about 50 flashes and suddenly it occurred. Don't know if Quantum is aware of this problem but it cost too much to be malfunctioning on important jobs.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Qflash Model T5D-R Flash Kit - with Turbo SC Battery & Charger:
I own four of these and originally bought them as portable devices for indoor and outdoor location shoots. I have since decided that they are perfect in every way and use them in my studio as well! The light balance and options are amazing. These are a must for any photographer needing a more powerful strobe for outdoors! Super portable and extreme battery life from the Turbo SC.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Qflash Model T5D-R Flash Kit - with Turbo SC Battery & Charger:
I recently purchased the entire Quantum package. T5D-R, Pilot, 2x2 battery, soft box, FW7Q, Bare bulb enhancer. I have to say it is amazing! It is light easy to move and works very well. Quantum's customer service is great as well. The learning curve might be a bit challenging but the kit comes with a helpful DVD. The T5D-R and the Pilot do so many things. I have used it for portrait sessions. seniors sessions and weddings. It is a great off camera flash unit and I can control everything from the camera.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Qflash Model T5D-R Flash Kit - with Turbo SC Battery & Charger:
I am a wedding photographer in Canada and I purchased this flash in anticipation of indoor shots for the ceremony and large group shots. I also hoped to use it as a mini-studio for on-location portraits along with my Canon 580EX II.
The flash fired a few times for me on the first day(both with the PC cord and my Pocket Wizards). After that I started to get a loud beep and a No Flash on the display. It would not fire despite changing settings and checking cords and power. I called Quantum and they said it was unusual but I have a faulty flash. I have no alternative but to send it back.
I now have another one on the way and am hoping that it is, as they said, unusual.
