Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
I use the product with 300mm, 400mm, 500mm, and 800mm lenses.
What's great about it is that it's easy to set up and easily allows movement of the lens on the tripod until you're ready to fire - then you tighten the controls and fire!
It would be nice if it came with a protective case...

Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
I needed more support, especially when it is windy, when I use both my Canon (70-200 is and my Sigma Bigma 50-500 ) with and with out the 2x extenders I use at times.

Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
I bought this device to help when I used some older but still good lenses without image stabilization. It proved to be very effective in eliminating the subtle movements that make an image seem soft without apparent movement. It was like a complete upgrade to my lens collection, especially the long ones. I saw sharpness I did not know was there.
The set up can be a trifle fussy but very much worth it.

Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
It sets up easy and provides a shake free platform that allows me to take pictures in low light with my long lens. It pans easily when attached to the camera allowing me to frame the shot without problem.

Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
This product is a great idea, an easily adjustable way to stabilize a long lens set up. Unfortunately, mine literally fell apart the first time I used it. The mini ball head just fell off. This is not my first bad experience with
Bogen/Manfrooto products. I had one of their tripods, and the handles and knobs broke dring very gentle use. I will not buy another Bogen product

Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
I have used the product to support my 80 - 400mm lens with a tele-extender, and it certainly adds to stability without adding too much excess weight. I have also used the support to hold an extra flash for macro photography. It would be great if the first joint was also lockable to make this a more adaptable accessory.

Comments about Manfrotto 359 Long Lens Support:
The Manfrotto 359 Long lens Support is a must for those who use a tripod with a heavy dslr and have a long heavy telephoto lenses attached plus any other equipment you want, like flash. Just rock stable. Incredibly you can move the camera and lens around as if it were not attached, that is how smooth it moves. Macro shooters, get this bad boy.You could buy a Burzynski long lens support for $237.44 as of today's exchange rate or the Manfrotto for $50 bucks. One thing is for sure it does the job it is designed for and that is: Your camera doesn't hang off the back of the tripod when a lens is attached to the head looking like a fish out of water!

Merchant response: Bogen is extremely reliable. The head should be easy to reattach simply by screwing it in and locking the set-screw.
