I am a professional and use the unit on a ball head in my studio. This also works on my Bogen tripod head as well so I can quickly switch between cameras. Much faster than changing lenses. I like to keep things simple.I have nothing negative to say about it. But it is greatly improved over the origal with lighter weight and better gripping on the bottome of the camera. The older one requires much more tension to gain the same holding ability.

Comments about Manfrotto 030-14 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw:
Works perfectly. In fact I was concerned because the tripod I have is an older Manfroto and I was concerned I wouldnt be able to get the parts I need for it.
But B&H had it!! EXCELLENT service as usual.

Comments about Manfrotto 030-14 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw:
After 20+ years of dependable service, the 1/4-20 set screw wiggled it's way out of the Quick Release Plate during transport and was lost. Had that not happened, the Quick Release Plate would have lasted forever. The Manfrotto tripod head and legs are still perfect.

-It is a solid piece of equipment.
-Works well with the tripod.
-Wish there were a way to push in the knob (screwhead) at the bottom to be flush with the plate so one could quickly go between tripod and hand held shooting.

Comments about Manfrotto 030-14 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw:
I like the fact the plate now uses a rubber mating surface compared to the older versions that used cork. The cork was good at first but as it aged became worse at holding steady. It great that its now rubber keeps a great hold on the equipment.
