The RangePlus Wireless Router from Linksys combines the functions of a Cable/DSL router, a wireless access point and a network storage server into one compact device. The router allows you to share your Internet connection between several computers that can connect via the 802.11g wireless protocol or via any of four wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports. The router is also fully backwards compatible with legacy 802.11b devices.
The router also features a firewall to protect you from malicious software that can attack your computer from the Internet, as well as wireless security to insure that your data remains private.
The router can achieve speeds of up to 54Mbps using 802.11g. It is also compatible with the legacy 11Mbps 802.11b standard. These features make the wireless router a great way to add wireless access to your home network.

Needed a wireless router that could be used for a network made up of pc's and macs. Plugged this one into the network and everything worked great with very little effort.
The only complaint (which is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) is that there was not a mac compatable cd included with the product. I don't know if it would have set up so easily if I didn't have a pc to use for the set up process.

I've bought the Router to replace an older one at my home, in a network with 3 laptops and one wireless printer. By now I'm pretty much satisfied with it, but at first, I was not able to install the router as easy as it was said at the box. The CD that comes with it has shown useless.
I've tried to look for more instruction at the Lynksys' website and found out that this model is not produced anymore, and following, came the surprise – looking at the back of the device - that it was produced in October, 2008. I bought it in January, 2011! If I had notice that at the time of purchase, I probably would not have bought it. This model is slower than similar ones produced nowadays at the same price range.
In the end, I've called a consultant to help me with network – that took him less then 10 minutes to be set (using the drivers from the Lynksys' website, by the way).

Router set up was a breeze, right out of the box. The included software made the setup easy enough for a first time user. The range is excellent. Would have liked some mounting hardware to put it on a wall.

As of now I'd say everything is working great. I've only had it for a couple of weeks and have noticed a change in download speeds. This version is faster than the Linksys wrt52g2 and has better connectivity. Really easy to get set up on a Mac.

this router offers a much better range in our home than the previous wireless router I had that was supplied by DirectTV. It was easy to install, and very affordable.

As close to "Plug and Play" as you can get. Simplly plug it in and follow instructions. Fast, "WOW" range, and never had a problem with it. Always on and no more problems like I've hads with other routers. I can even get it when I'm at a friends house down the street.
