The Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp is a 2" long clamp that is compatible with all Arca Swiss-type plates and mounts. The clamp is made of lightweight aluminum and stainless steel construction, to provide long-lasting dependability. No internal mechanisms are exposed, and this clamp engineered with safety stop relief grooves that provide improved versatility when mated with Kirk camera plates. Kirk plates are designed so that they will slide halfway across the clamp before stopping, giving you greater control without sacrificing flexibility.
Just one quarter turn of the locking knob allows the camera mounted to the plate to be easily adjusted along its path or, if the safety stops are not used, to be removed entirely from the side. A full turn allows the camera to be removed from the top.

Comments about Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp for Arca-Type Plates - 2" Base:
At the recommendation of a B&H tech rep I purchased this little Arca adapter instead of shelling out big bucks for a new Acra-mount tripod head. The QRC-2 attaches very securely to any existing 1/4" mount or quick release plate and has tiny adjustable stud screws on the bottom to prevent slippage against the existing mount. It also has a built-in bubble level. The quality of the whole unit and especially the clamping screw is excellent. I'm getting one of these for each of my tripods.

Comments about Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp for Arca-Type Plates - 2" Base:
this clamp fits nicely on the 1/4" basic version of the arca swiss p0 ballhead. (arca p0 comes either 1/4" or new narrow gauge clamp or double narrow + std clamp) The combo yields a light weight leveling + pano head that combines efficiently with clamped nodal rail and L bracket on the camera.

I wanted to construct an adapter that would allow me to use ARCA Swiss equipped equipment on my Promaster SHD tripod. Combining this with a Promaster baseplate did the trick.

I use it to mount my Nikon D 700 with a Kirk bracket designed for the camera. The Quick Release is mounted on a Gitzo ball and Tripod. I do a lot of night Photography and I appreciate the easy way it mounts and the stability it offers. I recommend buying the Kirk bracket with the Release.

Comments about Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp for Arca-Type Plates - 2" Base:
I bought this to go with the Cotton Carrier button to make a quicker change from vest to tripod. (Acratech ballhead w/Arca type quick release.) This way, I can keep my QR plate attached to the camera and the button attached to this clamp. A couple of turns of the knob, and it's ready for the tripod.

I needed this to attach to a Cotton Carrier Vest as my camera has a Acratech plate on it. Works well for this purpose, and is the cheapest solution. Even Acratech recommended this product!

If you want to use an l-bracket, and you're not in a rush to flip the camera on its side, then this is a good clamp. I'm glad I have the option of unscrewing something like this from my camera mount.

Comments about Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp for Arca-Type Plates - 2" Base:
I bought this particular QR clamp so I could use it with my Cotton Carrier system if need be.
It is a solid system, and of very high quality.
I actually wish I had gotten a lever style instead, as that would be quicker to secure, but that doesn't detract from this product at all. I highly recommend it.

I am using this quick release on my Cotton Carrier so I can leave my BL-5D Compact L-Bracket for Canon 5D Camera Body on my camera all the time. The quality of the Kirk products are great. It has exceded all my expectations.

Comments about Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp for Arca-Type Plates - 2" Base:
I recently purchased a new tripod and ballhead so all my gear was outfitted with Arca plates. However, my old tripod and monopod still have the standard connector stud, and this clamp gives me the ability to use my existing equipment (if needed) with little additional investment. Great bang for the buck!

This works perfect with the Kirk L Bracket on my 50D. This attaches to the standard screw post on most tripods. I can detach and reattach my 50D with the L bracket from fully locked in the horiz position to fully locked in the vert position in less than 3 seconds, by sliding the L Bracket in and out of this clamp.

Got it with the BL-D90 L-Bracket. Provides a quick, universal attachment of the camera to the tripod.
It has a solid, quality feel to it, and is easy to use.
I bought it to provide the quick-release functionality to my Bogen tripod head which had only the screw connection.

Comments about Kirk QRC-2 Quick Release Clamp for Arca-Type Plates - 2" Base:
Use it with an L-bracket on D-200. Fits well, smooth, holds tight, easy to use. Lever would be faster, but these things add up pretty quickly.
Best use for me is flipping to vertical is much quicker and easier, no tripod weirdness, just flip the camera on the L-bracket. It is a good improvement over your standard tripod quick release, but now I need one for my long lens too..
Recommend it, if your budget can handle it.
