The xw8600 Desktop Workstation Computer from Hewlett-Packard is designed to meet the needs of video editors, graphic designers, educators, and businesspeople.
The computer is powered by a 2.83GHz Intel Quad-Core Xeon E5440 CPU and is loaded with 250GB of hard drive capacity, 2GB of RAM, and a SuperMulti DVD burner. The system also features integrated Gigabit Ethernet and ample expansion slots. All this is powered by Windows Vista Business and is housed in a convertible minitower form factor. Downgrade media for Windows XP is also included.

- Bring Your Own Graphics Solution
- As configured, the computer does not feature a display card. Two PCI Express x16 expansion slots are available, allowing you to add either a single video card or dual nVIDIA cards using the Scalable Link Interface to improve performance. Customize the system by choosing the video card that best suits your needs.

- The PC's 250GB storage capacity makes it easy to store all of your critical data including uncompressed videos, thousands of MP3s, and thousands of pages of important documents.

It fired right up out of the box. Everything preconfigured and ready to go. They even sent the empty boxes and manuals for the graphics board and drives. Using the system to edit a two 1/2 hour shows. Having a few issues adjusting to the new AVID software (was using Express 2.5) and converting older files to work in Composer. Would have liked to have had Boris Graphitti included.
