The Digital Foci Photo Safe II Stand-Alone Data Storage Unit Is a portable battery powered hard drive unit that allows users to transfer data off of most popular memory card types to free up expensive memory card space so you can reuse your card to keep shooting, and provides a safe place to save your precious photos. Just insert the digital camera memory card into Photo Safe II, press the one-touch Auto Copy button and your photos are quickly transferred to the device. When you get home, simply connect Photo Safe II to your computer to retrieve your saved pictures.
Photo Safe II copies the entire content of your memory card with copy speeds of up to 5.0 MB/second, so a full 1GB card can be copied in approximately 3.5 minutes. And the Photo Safe II works with all popular card formats, including CompactFlash (Type I & II with support for high speed cards such as Extreme IV & UDMA card types, Secure Digital including SDHC, MultiMedia Cards, Memory Stick (MS, MS PRO, MS Duo, MS PRO Duo) and xD-Picture cards. You can also make copies of photos taken from friend's and family's cameras by inserting their cards into Photo Safe for instant archiving of special moments. The Photo Safe II copies all file formats (including RAW images and videos) with their original file name and file structure. Its backlit LED screen shows key system information, and provides a copy status indicator.
When connected to a computer, The Photo Safe II functions as an external hard drive and memory card reader. Use it to back up and archive digital images, music and important files from your computer through its high-speed USB 2 connection. Photo Safe II is compatible with Windows, Macintosh and even Linux Systems. Furthermore, the user-replaceable Li-Ion battery is rechargeable via a computer USB port or with the included AC power adapter that can be used internationally to provide the ultimate convenience - both at home and on the go.

The card slots are also protected by rubber covers to keep dust and other debris out of the unit.

The Photo Safe II transfers data from the memory card to its hard drive at an incredible 5 MB/second so you can copy a full 1GB capacity memory card in approximately 3.5 minutes.

• Automatic Sequential Folder Numbering

For each copy, Photo Safe II creates a unique folder name indicating media card type and copy sequence per card type to help keep your photos well organized.

• Backlit LCD Display

The monochrome LCD display presents information about operational status, active partitions, remaining hard drive capacity, battery life, and more, and provides copy status information including percentage completed, copy confirmation, and number of files copied. There is also an indicator LED that shows data access status for the memory card and the hard drive.

• High-speed USB 2.0 Connection

The High-Speed USB 2.0 interface provides for fast uploads and downloads to and from your computer.

• Powered by a Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery

The High capacity Lithium-Ion battery is rechargeable via a computer USB port or by external AC power with the included AC Adapter, and provides sufficient power for up to 80 minutes of continuous use. That is enough power to copy a 1GB memory card up to 16 times. Plus the Photo Safe II has an Auto shut-off function that saves battery life. The battery is also User-removable, so there is no need to send it to a service center if the battery looses is storage capability.

• Functions as an External Hard Drive and Memory Card Reader

When connected to computer, the Photo Safe II can be used as an external hard drive and is Mass-Storage compliant with a FAT32 File architecture, In addition, the drive supports multiple partitions for more efficient data management. Furthermore, the unit can also be used as a memory card reader to transfer files directly from a memory card to your computers hard drive. It is also multi-system compatible with support for Windows & Macintosh & Linux operating systems.
