Comments about Photoflex First Studio Backdrop Pole:

With the name "First Studio" I was expecting a little less than what this is. Fully adjustable, strong, easy to use. The sections do not lock like the Manfrotto but they really do not have to. A great find.

Comments about Photoflex First Studio Backdrop Pole:

Combined with a couple of light stands, the photoflex backdrop pole fills the exact need for setting up a backdrop environment in a client's home, for example. Construction is excellent and even when extended the full width provides more than adequate strength to support your muslin or other fabric backdrops. I've not tried rolled paper yet, but I don't see a reason why that would not work either. I picked up standard clamps from [...] (Huge kit of multiple size for under $7 - can't beat it, and you can never have enough clamps. :-) I would highly recommend the Photoflex pole. Great value for the dollar.

Comments about Photoflex First Studio Backdrop Pole:

[...]I like the fact that this product comes in black instead of the regular aluminum color. This will prevent possible reflections. The tightening bolts on top are bit unnecessary, since the weight of most backgrounds prevents slippage. I had bolts like this on other equipment that become broken after many trips to and from the job.

Comments about Photoflex First Studio Backdrop Pole:

This pole is fantastic. I just wish the nuts on the ends were not so large so you didn't have to take one off in order to thread the pole through the seamless. Other than that the smoothness in which it extends is easy. It goes up to 12ft and it packs down small, but it could be a bit smaller since it won't fit in any cases of mine, but I managed to get creative with the seamless tube and I just gaff table it to the seamless tube. That seems to work for me.

Comments about Photoflex First Studio Backdrop Pole:

This product has a number of good things going for it. The auto-extension design means you don't have to break down several sections. The end caps fit over any standard light stand without extra accessories (like pins). It collapses to a portable size and the detentes make telescoping down very easy. It's also large enough to accommodate all but the largest backdrops. Wish I'd bought this one first!

Very useful to hang muslin and other backdrops that have a slip-pocket, and seamless backdrops as well.

I bought this pole for ease when setting up a backdrop during location shoots. Because it telescopes, it only takes a few seconds to set it up.

Comments about Photoflex First Studio Backdrop Pole:

There is not much to say. It's a pole that goes between two stands. And it works as expected. Defiantly plenty strong. It fits the stud on top of light stands perfectly.

My only bad point is I have to totally remove the set screw on one end to put on my background. The set screw should be off the end not on the side.

When you have a bunch of stands and need a backdrop, why buy a backdrop kit when you can just buy the pole. At 12'6" this is the widest I could find on BH.

This is a good telescoping pole. Photoflex is first rate equipment.
