ARM Electronics VL2812ASIR 1/3" CS Mount 2.8-12mm F1.2 Aspherical IR Varifocal Lens
The two important things to notice in the ARM Electronics VL2812ASIR lens are its 'aspherical' and 'IR' designations. The former helps the lens maintain all-around sharpness while the latter increases the camera's sensitivity to light. As such, this lens is a great idea for applications requiring 24-hour dependable security monitoring.
- Aspherical Lens Design
- Aspherical technology may add a few dollars to the price of a lens but it sure pays off in the long run. In a standard lens, image sharpness tends to drop off for areas that are not immediately to the center of the lens. An Aspherical lens, on the other hand, is able to maintain corner-to-corner and all-around image sharpness.
- IR Correction
- IR correction employs low reflection optics (glass that takes a more gradual approach to light bending) to efficiently process available light levels without causing the resulting picture to appear out of focus. For this reason, this lens is particularly well suited for use with Day/Night cameras as well as with B/W CCTV cameras viewing in near infrared lighting conditions.
