Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Digital Camera (Black):
I usually shoot with a Nikon D200 but wanted a camera to fit in my pocket for those times when I couldn't take a full size camera.
I tried some other small cameras but their lens quality and compression ratio caused the pictures to be of poor quality.
This camera takes nice clear photos. The lag time is vary short and the lens is sharp.
I recommend it as a quality pocket take-a-long camera.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Digital Camera (Black):
I've owned mine for several months. Over all I like the camera... There are soo many settings though and sometimes pictures in the wrong mode can look grainy due to poor lighting. If you are looking for the super Zoom camera this is not it. The zoom is decent for normal Photos just not the distant scene views, This is your basic high mega pixel pocket camera.
Great for take along. Shutter speed is really fast to capture Kids smiles. Sometimes fast movements cause blurriness though. Bottom Line for price it is a decent buy.
Overall although some cons there are Pros that make up the difference. I have a feeling me as an amature camera man i feel I might not be using the full potential. I intend to find out and will keep you posted.

We take holiday and party digital pictures. The camera is very easy to use. Everything is logical, and the performance is great. There are very advanced features, but the camera performes very good even if there is very little light.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Digital Camera (Black):
I just purchased this camera last month and used it on two personal vacations. It has been great. For a point and shoot, it takes phenomenal pictures. I just uploaded a photo to my desktop, and the detail is just incredible (thanks to the 13.6 megapixels). The battery life seems appropriate- I think I charged it after about 5 days of casual use. I think there have been critiques regarding the flash, but I haven't encountered any problems. Overall, I think that it is a fabulous camera for someone who wants a point and shoot with some extra features and quality.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Digital Camera (Black):
For the price I think this is an excellent digital point and shoot camera. It has a large screen and takes high resolution (13 mg) pictures. It's easy to use. The only problem I have is that it did not come with a memory stick so you have to buy one before you can use the camera.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Digital Camera (Black):
A well built, solid pocket camera. Very versatile including manual controls. Has image stabilization. Takes good pictures up to ISO 1600 and acceptable pictures up to ISO 6400. The only negative is the relatively short battery life.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Digital Camera (Black):
I finally decided that I needed to buy a pocketable digital camera to go along with my D300 and Contax G2s(film cameras). I had handled the DSC-W200 belonging to a friend, loved the build quality, loved the simplicity of the menus and controls, and I was equally impressed with the DSC-W300. I plan on using this at ISO 80 & 100, knowing that at 13mp and small sensor, higher ISOs will be filled with noise. So far, in good lighting conditions, I'm very impressed with the crisp, clear results. It's start-up time and shutter lag are very minimal, another surprise for me.
Weak point...the flash is tiny and weak, and the dreaded red-eye is a given. So, I keep the flash off and use it in generally good light, so the weak flash isn't an issue.
Overall, a very nice, tiny digicam for those moments when you can't take the "big guns" with you.
