The Monostat RS16K ART All-Round Monopod, with Anti Rotation Tubing is an "all-around" mid-range monopod that offers ultra-steady positioning due to its unique "Swivel Toe Stabilizer" foot. Due to the ball-socket friction-bearing design of the foot, involuntary movements around the longitudinal axis of the leg are prevented while obtaining smooth motion in the horizontal axis for the purpose of following moving objects, or shooting panoramic views. This ensures steady shots even in the most extreme telephoto positions.

The RS16K ART has been updated with anti rotation tubing, which makes it easier and faster to set up. In addition, the top leg section comes protected with non-slip foam, for improved handling in extreme weather conditions. The twist locks have also been improved with finer rubber collars, which makes for easier operation.

Anti rotation tubing makes it possible to open and close the tripod faster and easier. Simply turn all of the locking rings at once and the whole leg can be pulled out in seconds.
Steady shots up to a 60° angle to the horizontal
Stabilization in the vertical and horizontal axes
Enables shooting on slippery surfaces, such as marble or ice, and from moving vehicles
Lightweight aluminum construction
Maximum Height 60.2" (153cm)
Folded Length 20.5" (52cm)
Load Capacity 30 lbs (13.6kg)
Leg Sections 4
Leg Lock Type Twist locks
Male Thread Size Dual 1/4"-20 & 3/8"

Comments about Monostat RS16K ART All-Round Monopod, with Anti Rotation Tubing (Black):

There are times when I don't want to carry a heavy Tripod around for any length of time. So I wanted a monopod that would serve my purpose. Fo very serious work I do prefer a tripod, but this monopod provides amazing stability compared to others I have used. No matter how hard I tried to hold my other monopod stable, I always found blur in still when reviewd 100%, and my video clips revealed shake.

Recently I put my RS16K to the test, and it worked great. The cuped foot does the job. For stills using the equivalent 400 mm lens, I found no blur when viewed at 100%, and my video clips hrevealed no shake. I will use my tripod when shooting video of recitals or concerts though. Each too has to be used within its limits. For short video clips this monopod will do the job.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I find the RS16KART All-Round Monopod to be a most excellent product. It has met all my expectations as far as ease of set-up, portability and function. I leave my DSRL mounted all the time and am able to take my gear with me anywhere I go. I would definitely recomment this monopod; have had no issues with it in terms of form or function.

Comments about Monostat RS16K ART All-Round Monopod, with Anti Rotation Tubing (Black):

This is my first monopod. I've used it a few times and have been very happy with how it helps to steady my camera. Monostat helped end my camera shake problem. It sounds odd to say, I like the way it feels, but when you grab onto an aluminum tripod and it makes you want a pair of gloves, you'll understand just how nice the padding on this Monopod is. The locking mechanisms work smoothly and are very solid. The foot is very manuverable, yet it is a solid base. Sometimes the strap is kind of dangly, a simple stroke of the hand smooths the strap back into line with the Monopod. The bag is snug around the foot, it requires a little manuvering to fully enclose. There is not enough room to spell out the Cons: I should have bought this sooner. Best Uses: Whenever you need the support for a steady shot, and don't have room for a tripod.

The Monostat RS16K is usually holding my Canon 40D w/ battery grip and my 70-200 f2.8 IS attached. It's sturdy and reliable. Easy to operate, very smooth when switching sizes, and great to use during a sporting event or when they have a "no tripod" sign. I'm a short gal (5'1 1/2!) so when I'm trying to shoot a game while sitting down, I sometimes have to correct my posture so that I can see through the viewfinder.

This monopod is outstanding. I use a Nikon 300 with battery pack and the Monostat holds strong and steady. I shoot sports events and it will swing and "swoop" beautifully.
