I live in an area with frequent power outages, and in an OLD house with questionable wiring, so brownouts and surges are commonplace here. The last straw and reason I ordered this was after my last power outage, which for whatever reason made a specific program completely unusable, even after uninstall/re-install and system restore and other attempted tech tips. So don't play around with your computer's health! Get a backup now! I like how the software shows you all the important info regarding voltage/charge/problems, etc. It's also fairly flexible with the number of settings you can change. I'm still waiting for that next power outage to see if this baby really cuts the mustard.

Unfortunately, I have not tested the UPS for a long time, but it does keep two computers plus their external hard drives on with no problem. Seems well constructed and with good protection. In fact, it did signal a ground problem which we did not know we had.
