I have this computer at home for personal use and to work from home. I like the big screen but the 21" would be fine. I don't have to worry about viruses. The price may be high by today's standards but is less than what I've paid in the past for computers. I recommend the iMac.

I use this computer for photo processing and it worths every cent. Not the fastest, but the lcs screen is extremely sharp.
This machine goes hot when you use graphics intensive applications like games. The use of the SMCFanControl software is a MUST.

Our windows machine was in trouble. My daughter has a Mac and really likes it. We like not having to worry about viruses. The big screen is nice but the 20" may have suited us better. The all-in-one design gives us more room. The mouse has taken some time to get use too. It could just be me. I'm glad I made the purchase even though I had to pay more to get a Mac.

So easy and intuitive. It is so logical and does all you need it to do without all the menus behind menus etc etc. The screen is gorgeous and functions perfectly as our computer and TV. The size is marvelous (small foot print), and no need for wires all over the place. So far quite reliable but only had a couple of weeks. Just wish it came with Iworks, or some sort of word processing (although iworks is not expensive). The help menus and Apple web site is also so darn easy and gets to all the questions one may have, so nothing to fear!! Also, the deal I got at B&H made this an absolutely no brainer. Enjoy

I purchased the iMac for use in a professional design department. It's a fantastic machine and is everything I would expect from a new Mac. I was particularly pleased to find it at B&H at such a fantastic price. The downside of Apple is that as soon as the latest comes out the previous model is nowhere to be found and so you end up paying top dollar for the latest and greatest all the time. This iMac from 2008 had all the specs and power we need for our work here, but came at an affordable cost due to it being on generation previous of the latest machines.
The 24" screen is not only large enough to manage multiple working windows and palettes, but has incredibly brilliant color and sharpness. The high finish on the screen enhances the clarity beyond that.
The new low-profile keyboard is both ergonomic and clean, due to each key protruding independently from the casing. No more dust and dirt between the keys and down in the keyboard. Bye-bye canned air.
With duel 2.3 GHz processors and a 320 GB hard drive this iMac has all the power needed to do professional graphics and media.
Setup is a breeze with OS 10.5 and a Time Machine. Follow the prompts upon booting for the first time and you can restore your new computer from your latest backup. We transitioned all the content and settings from a G5 to this computer in about an hour.
Great machine. Great price. The end.

There's no worries with Apple's Leopard OS and all their latest computers can run Microsoft Windows or Vista if that's your requirement. Easily worth the money because you'd probably go through at least two PCs before you'd even think about replacing a Mac. They never quit!

I did not want to purchase the computer at full price, but wanted the full price quality. B&H had the price, software, hard drive and RAM i wanted. All brand new.[...]. i am a photographer and love the crystal clear quality and storage available[@] i use iphoto as my default for uploading off camera. everything is sorted so i can see the contents of my folders by just dragging the mouse over it.i installed photshop CS4 and i love using it on this 24".going from a tiny dell laptop to this is incredible. everything is easier.best of luck.ps. it did freeze a few times when i had a billion apps open. but i don't have the max RAM yet. freezing on this compared to how my laptop would freeze is like comparing an arctic winter to a rare morning frost in San Diego.

What an amazing computer! I have always wanted a mac but knew I could never afford one. That is, until I found this deal... You cant beat the processor speed and massive monitor real estate this computer offers for the price. I have never seen or even heard about apple selling such an awesome product, non-refurbished, for this cheap. it really is a steal!
I haven't regretted the decision to buy this mac once since I got it. I wouldn't trade it for any other computer of equal price; because you can't find a computer out there this good for this price. Period.

great computer at an awesome price. [$] i added a 4GB memory kit from OWC and now i'm rockin'. i was really impressed with the packaging when i received the computer via UPS, double boxed, much better than amazon's. this computer is plenty powerful and fast. i saw no reason to spend more money for something that will cost the same as this in 6-12 months. if your looking for basic computer that can take care of a lot of tasks from email to basic video editing and graphics, this imac works really well. no regrets whatsoever. can't come close for the price. there is no other computer manufactured on the planet that makes computers that are built this well and that look this good.

As a long time user of the Mac Pro boxes and laptops, this is my first consumer model since 1989. I have to admit, I'm very impressed!!! I haven't noticed any real speed issues - although, I don't do any processor intensive work on it.
I love the 24" worth of real estate on the monitor. The LCD colors are very close to real life - used Pantone's Huey calibrator.
