This is a great accessory to own no matter how often you use your digital camera. It allows you to transfer your pictures very quickly and, most importantly, without having to connect your camera to your computer. Stop wasting your camera battery on file transfers!
Installation was a cinch. Just plug it in and let the operating system do the rest. When you're ready to transfer the files, insert your compact flash card. The card will show up just like another removable storage device. From there, it's simply a matter of copying and pasting.
This unit is small enough to pack in your favorite camera bag. That way you can easily use it on the road (my laptop doesn't have a card reader). As a bonus, the card reader comes with software to recover "lost files."
The unit itself feels very solid in your hand. I was also please to see that the underside of the unit was covered with a rubber pad so that it wouldn't slide all over your desk (I keep mine on top of my computer tower).

Comments about SanDisk Extreme III USB 2.0 CompactFlash Card Reader:
I wanted to get the FireWire version but I would need a 9 pin PCI Express FireWire card in my PC at around another $50 and not to mention it is twice as much money for the FireWire version. I can wait a few more seconds for to save a lot of money.

Comments about SanDisk Extreme III USB 2.0 CompactFlash Card Reader:
I upgraded from my old Sandisk Image Mate CF reader and am I glad I did. This is so much faster. When reading Sandisk 4Gb Extreme IV cards Nikon Transfer running on my relatively new computer can't keep up. The reader is finished before the computer has stored all the images. It must run the USB port at its full capacity.

Comments about SanDisk Extreme III USB 2.0 CompactFlash Card Reader:
This reader is really nice in combination with a Sandisk Extreme III CF card. I was using the "normal" 12 in 1 Sandisk ImageMate Reader before but this is much faster. I did a comparison test by taking about 80 pics on Large Fine JPEG on a Nikon D200. It took the old 12 in 1 reader 66 seconds to download the images but this reader had it done in 26 seconds. Also plug and play with no problem on XP.

I am a professional photographer and because of this I find myself needing to use my laptop all of the time. At home I use my Extreme firewire reader. For my laptop I havent found anything faster.

Comments about SanDisk Extreme III USB 2.0 CompactFlash Card Reader:
I use Sandisk Extreme III CR cards with my Nikon D300 and D200 and heretofore have used the Sandisk ImageMate CF Reader to download these cards to my computer. No more. This new reader is noticeably faster than the ImageMate and especially so when using the new 30MB Extreme III cards. Even my 20MB cards (both 4GB and 8GB)download quicker. This is definitely the reader to get if you use Extreme III CF cards.

Comments about SanDisk Extreme III USB 2.0 CompactFlash Card Reader:
I download with an 4gb card which is usually full and it only takes this reader seconds to do so. I had a multi-function reader before and it was not as easy or fast as this particular reader. The card is easy to insert into the slot. I only use a compact flash card so I do not need the extra slots for different cards.

I bougt these because they were a little bit cheaper than firewire card readers. They are a little bit slower but overall I am pleased with them.

This reader helps me transfer my pictures quite fast. What I like about it most, is that I don't need to connect my camera to the pc anymore, just use this. Seems much easier!
If you don't need the wireless one, I should recommend this one to everyone.

Comments about SanDisk Extreme III USB 2.0 CompactFlash Card Reader:
It works well. But it is annoying you need a new reader for the new Extreme 3 cards. The old II cards are already getting harder to find, so I went with the new Extreme 3 cards. BUT then I needed this reader. Gotta love it.
Works well in spite of the above comments.
