Comments about AKG IP2 In-Ear Stereo Headphones:
I got these awesome earphones from a friend, he sold/lended them to me one day (we still didn't decide). To start the review properly: yes, they are worth the money - provided you're looking specifically for high level of detail, because that's what they excel at.
AKG proposes to us an untypical take on sound. At first intent listen it seems that separation is all the IP2s are about. Sounds might even seem overly featured apart, to someone. At least that's my impression. This is because their tone has that flat, excessively even, mathematical feel to it. It isn't a bad thing as depth can still be heard properly, it's just that in my life I haven't encountered an audio device that played in such a straight way. The audio is pretty neutral too, with a rather flat response. I haven't tested them with a mic and a professional recorder (yet), but I assume they would come off rather natural. Anyway, as I said the most pronounced feature is the very satisfactory detail representation, in which they can compete with more expensive devices.
Comfort is great as you haven't to plug them deep in your ear canal, they sit firmly just by the surface and don't fall off.
Outlook of course doesn't matter that much in canal headphones, but I have to give AKG credit - they are elegant with their round, smooth design.
Concluding- yes, these are good earphones. If I hadn't had the money for Senn HD 25 II, I could have even bought this or a similar AKG product, because of the well reproduced sound they offer.
