Stylus RMX Xpanded is an innovative software plug-in instrument that integrates a massive core library of thousands of cutting-edge groove elements, loops and samples, with a powerful user interface for creating grooves. It combines the power of Groove Control with Spectrasonics' Advanced Groove Engine (S.A.G.E.) technology, providing users with dramatic control over groove production and performance.
The 7.4GB core-library contains a wide range of modern musical genres. Mixes of grooves are broken down into individual tracks called Elements which can be arranged in an infinite number of combinations. Additionally, the software ships with thousands of Kit modules and over 10,000 new single hits. Users can create their own customized multi-track remix grooves and kits, save them into the plug-in, and even share them with other users on different platforms and hosts.
The software now includes all five of the S.A.G.E. Xpander expansion libraries, providing even more material in various genres, from straight ahead drum beats and kits, through ethnic percussion, and onto heavily processed sounds for hip-hop and techno production. Each groove is presented in S.A.G.E. activated versions that allows for changing the pitch, tempo, feel and pattern independently without using any DSP.
Another innovative feature in Stylus RMX Xpanded is the Chaos Designer. With simple controls, the user can introduce musical "chaos" into the groove, allowing for constantly evolving variations, and giving the impression that the audio grooves are improvising. The results can be subtle or extreme. A Capture feature allows the spontaneous audio chaos patterns to be made into a MIDI file, dragged and dropped into the host sequencer, and played back again for further editing by the user.

Comments about Spectrasonics Stylus RMX Xpanded - Realtime Groove Module:
This is a deep plug-in but user friendly enough to take you out of being a techie and put you back in the world of creating great beats. Better than any hardware or software drum machine I've ever worked with.

Comments about Spectrasonics Stylus RMX Xpanded - Realtime Groove Module:
An audio pro friend recommended this to me, and spoke of it with so much awe and respect that I took a chance and got it, even though I have other products like BFD2, Battery and Session Drums. Man, am I glad I did. The stunning amount of possibilities and flexibility that are available, and the creative opportunities that they present are kind of shocking. RMX will definitely be the first solution I turn to when working on something that needs percussion or groove. In fact, I may just start off with this, *a lot*.

I use Stylus in a project studio. It has an amazingly easy to use interface that had me up and running immediately. The sounds are pristine, the grooves are great and varied, and features like the Chaos Designer, and the multi-page user interface make it incredibly versatile. It is a very inspiring product for music creation.

Comments about Spectrasonics Stylus RMX Xpanded - Realtime Groove Module:
Right out of the box, this is ready to go as a drumloop collection, and as such it comes with a large number of loops. I admit that that is what I primarily use it for right now; however, it can do more than just loops!
You can use the individual percussion sounds in a loop and effectively turn it into a drum sampler, with a huge library of different percussion instruments and it's own set of audio effects to tweak the sound with. The Xpanded version comes with a lot more sounds, and makes it easier to swallow the high cost of entry.
Each instance of Stylus has eight different channels to assign sounds to, and each channel can be routed to its own audio output.
I am getting better, but am not yet an expert percussionist, and this instrument really helps me to liven up and fill out the drums in my music.
