Bought this to attach to a pole I use for shooting aerial type shots. Works just like you would expect it to. It's a little bulkier than it needs to be.

Very easy to use, this accessory is the fastest and easiest way to ensure that the autopoles are set up vertically. Only one spirit level is needed, just go from pole to pole aligning them. It is very easy to attach and remove.

I recently bought deluxe auto poles from B&H and saw these when I ordered but figured I really didn't need them. The reality is you don't but they make your life a lot easier. Trying to make sure the poles are perfectly vertical using a level could be the opening act in a comedy skit. Holding the level against the pole, while holding the pole, while working the lever and simultaneously trying to extend the pole will turn you into a not nice person in under three minutes. Do yourself a favor and order a few of these, it will save you some time and a few points of blood pressure.

Suggested to me during check-out. Didn't think it would really matter, and that I could probably eye-ball it. What a mistake! This product is a NECESSITY for any Autopole installations. Don't be fooled! This product is NOT made in China, but surprisingly Italy, like all Manfrotto products. Surely, you cannot go wrong without it. Otherwise, your Autopoles may just be leaning to the side and we really don't want that. Cheers.

These are great: simple, inexpensive, and functional. Makes leveling your poles quick and easy. No more setting, standing back to eye-ball, re-adjusting and then repeating the whole procedure for the other vertical plane of the pole. Just center the bubble, lock the pole in place and you're done!
Makes for a cool artsy-fartsy wrist bracelet too if you into that sort of thing.
Ok, maybe not.
I bought one as a fluke and then realized what a useful tool it was. Saves time and one of those little things that make life in the studio more pleasant.
My only complaint is that after many years of use, the rubber strap on my first one finally snapped. No big deal since Bogen is great at providing replacement parts as reasonable prices and the things are inexpensive to begin with.

This little guy is a pretty simple way to get your auto-poles straight. Pretty inexpensive too. Its also easy to mount and then remove for setting up your next auto-pole.

If you love autopoles as I do, you will want at least one of these levels to set the poles straight. Eyeballing it is not the way to go!
