i was using an older xr-20x that i had to return so i bought the newer version. i use it only to watch movies in our home. im happy with the brightnnes and picture quality. its very quiet, doesnt get hot, easy to set up (just plug and play).

so far no complaints.

(i actually purchased an epson first but i found it was too loud and hot)

We have used this projector and its variant (XR-32) for the past few years at our church. It has been an excellent projector for us, performing well in many different rooms and lighting situations. It has never given us any trouble and it has been very reliable. Though Sharp has produced newer models to replace this one, we keep coming back to this one when we need a new projector, because we know it will perform.

We utilize a project at church in our sanctuary. During Sunday morning services there is plenty of natural ambient light from windows and also the lighting from the ceiling. We use the projector to show videos, slide shows, projecting song lyrics, etc.

Overall, this is a great projector. I would like to have gone brighter (3000+ lumens), but I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how bright the image still is with all the light in the sanctuary. The features are great for this price range and I believe we've made a very smart choice with out money.

One thing that I found disappointing was that I have had trouble finding software to control the projector from our computer instead of with the supplied remote. The old version of Sharp Advanced Projector Control has not been updated in a long time and there is no support for this model in there. Luckily, I am a programmer and they provide all of the needed info in their manuals. I am working on a program now. It would have been nice not to have to, though.

I was amazed when I took this one out of the box and with a quick set-up began using it for the first time. About five years ago I purchased an
In Focus X2 and spent about $400.00 above the price of the Sharp XR-32X. When I compared the old In Focus projector with the Sharp, I simply could not believe how much brigther, sharper and in focus the XR-32X is. I had purchased the first Sharp XR-32X for our small church, but when I saw what it can do, I immediately went on-line and purchased one for my home. Fantastic little projector!

We purchased this product to use for groups of 10 to 80 people. It's relatively short throw distance and surprising brightness make it a great fit for our needs. While the zoom capability is limited it provides an extra bit of flexibility with placement of the projector.

I havent had them long, but they met our expectations (got two of them for a training room) Great picture, quiet, easy to use/configure. Quality construction. Great product for a great price.

This projector is great. I am using this outdoor on movie night and also indoor in a media room for ball games.The projector is plenty bright and the high def is great. I am going hdmi to dvi from my satellite box or dvd player. This is a perfect portable projector and a great buy for[$] . I will most likely buy another one to mount full time in my media room.

We use this in our training meetings. Our old unit did not have near the resolution or lumens that this Sharp does. This greatly enhances our presentations. There are no con's at this time.

I bought the Sharp xr32x because it was the lowest priced projector that had: High lumens, adequate contrast, and a DVI (or HDMI) input (I had heard that S-video did not look that good). I needed the higher lumens because I was using the projector both at home and in a classroom setting.


I was very surprised to see how well the projector looks with S-video on my 106 inch screen. But, can see that there is a large improvement when using the DVI with 720P.

When using the DVI input, I can see a real difference going from 480P to 702P. But, I see no difference going to 1080i (My Denon DVD player does not have 1080P). The DVI 480P looks very much like S-Video.

We use it both for our personal home theater (that I'm building in my basement) and for a Bible club that we put on in a local public grade school. For both purposes, it works great. At the public grade school I don't need to take the projector out of econo-mode. So, this projector has lumens to spare........

The fan is ultra-quiet and I have no complaints. I'm thinking that I'll use this projector for dual purposes (movies and Bible club) for a few years, then upgrade to a full 1080 when Blu-Ray becomes more popular (and cheaper). However my wife and kids think that there is no need to upgrade. They're amazed that such a large screen can look so good...... We watched Peter Pan and the initial flight sequence gave a perception of being there. Very cool.

I use the product for multiple formats ranging from simple movie viewing to large format multi touch interactive wall installations.

I like it's relative portability and exceptional image quality when used with the appropriate DVI cable.

It should be noted that the difference in image quality between DVI capable projectors and VGA-only projectors is VERY noticeable and I recommend this projector almost solely based on the fact that it offers both interfaces at a price point lower than equivalent projectors that only offer VGA.

Occasionally, I notice individual pixel flicker when it is warming up, but this seems to go away.
