Using a digital gray card can really help when setting custom white balance and getting it closer to right in-camera. This particular one is best for digital photography. I like the size: not too big and not too small. Fits in my camera bag but is still big enough to easily fill the frame when using it.
I find that when I use this outside, especially in shaded settings, it produces images that are slightly warmer than I'd like, but that's an easy fix in post. I still like it!

That's a shame as having a sturdy, washable true gray card would be very useful. (The standard cardboard ones become dirty and damaged.) Sloppy design.

This card is a reliable neutral patch for tagging RAW files, and the 5x7 size is large enough to be used as a preset target with normal to telephoto lenses. The product is simply a quality-controlled plastic panel and it should give a long service life if given reasonable care.
