Camera operator of 8+ years: Steadicam, Flycam, Glidecam, Redrock, Zacuto, etc. experience.
Easily comparable to the "floating" shots you would get with a rig that costs 2-3 times as much. Added benefit is having it for many more uses other than just to get "steadicam" type shots. Works as a camera boom for high angle shots, monkey cam for low angle, body brace (instant setup and steadier than Redrock type rigs), monopod, tripod, etc. etc. etc. Ideal for DSLR and smaller HD cams in 12 lbs. and under range.
Would highly recommend adding to arsenal to boost production value on a limited budget.
I regularly shoot EPK's and live events (i.e. concerts) and am able to get much more dynamic footage and images than someone with just a shoulder rig or just a tripod.

Fast and Easy setup - I had seen the videos online as how to balance a camera on the Steddiepod, so when I pulled it out of the box, I had the camera, a Sony NX5U, balanced and ready to go in less then 5 minutes. It does help this camera has good balance.
It does take a little time to flight straight. I used it at a wedding a few days later and both my partner and did a very nice job flying.
It was also great for the tripod mode and lifting it high over the crowd.
The only weakness I see is the flip over on the head is a weak for an almost 5 lb camera. I am considering gluing this down since it is of no use to me.
Good over all tool that I had dreamed of before actually seeing one.
I would buy it again.

I got my hands on one at the station and there wasn't anything i wanted this thing for. it can act like a tripod. But the clamp on the head is so weak sooner or later your camera is gonna fall out and break. Can't pan with it cause its not steady enough. The gimbal on it can make it act like a steady cam..... but it really isn't anywhere near as smooth as a glidecam. Tries to do to much and really isn't useful anything.

Looks good, looks like a gyroscope, but it probably isn't. Hard to believe that this thing can do all of the depicted types of supports equally well.
