I purchased this devise and hooked it up to a handheld ENG Mic and didn't work. Then I paired it with the Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone and wow. I can't believe the quality this thing puts out. Phantom power, mixer control, MIDI inputs and outputs. This little fella is a keeper. As for the software that came with it. I don't like it, very difficult to learn, and to print the audio you have to upgrade for $$$, not worth it, and it also acted goofy in my G5 MAC. However MAC Users don't need any drivers or software so no issue for us, PC Users: Good Luck! I used it with Soundtrack Pro for vocals and voice overs and I love it.

I use this interface with Adobe Audition and Windows Vista 64. The drivers that came with the device did not work, but I was able to download the correct drivers from the PreSonus website.
Cons:
- You cannot turn off the phantom power.
- The phone plug part of the jacks don't work that well (clipping, sound coloration).
- Included drivers don't work for Vista 64.
Pros:
- The XLR part of the jacks work well (fairly transparent sound, no clipping).
- There is no noticeable latency (with the low-latency hardware settings).
- Works with Vista 64 (with correct drivers) and Adobe Audition.
- USB powered (no external power needed).
Overall, this product is well-worth the price.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Audio Recording Interface:
I use this to record into a laptop. It's small and bus-powered. It sounds good, isn't noisy and is easy to use. Installation was a little annoying, but easy.
It comes bundled with the "artist" version of Presonus's Studio One DAW, which is pretty excellent and naturally integrates well. The artist version has one huge limitation - no VSTs. But it comes with a lot of effects already, upgrading is cheaper than most other DAW software costs, and you can obviously use whatever other software you prefer.
Overall, nothing to complain about - it's inexpensive, it sounds good, it seems well-built, it's very easy to use, and it takes XLR, Line, or Instruments in either of its inputs. Phantom power is on or off for both inputs at the same time, but you can't expect much else at this price.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Audio Recording Interface:
I came to this item by a long route. Low cost 16 bit USB interfaces gave a thin weak sound. Other 24 bit interfaces had clicks, pops and dropouts due to software incompatibility with my hardware or software. (After 9 months I never resolved these.) So eventually I got the Presonus unit. Software appeared to instal from website OK, but no icons added to desktop. Helpdesk advised there is no separate application, just launch your DAW and change USB settings from in there. Sound is just flawless. Bass is so deep I had to go back over old recordings and cut off below 75Hz. TRS inputs are for instruments only, so use the XLR for line in.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Audio Recording Interface:
As always, PreSonus has delivered an outstanding product. Out of the box, it was very easy to use and easy to adjust. My only complaint is that it does not have multiple 1/4" outs (more than 2) like the now-cancelled FireBox has. Just make sure the driver stays current and try to plug in the box BEFORE you power up the PC or MAC. I found if not, the DAW you are using will not communicate properly and completely skip in the middle of the performance! (Because it certainly wont happen in practice when it can be fixed!)

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Audio Recording Interface:
The sound is decent, but do not get the USB version. I have it connected to my mac pro 8 core, and no matter how fast I have the buffer set to, there is always latency when recording. I have tried everything, and it will not correct the latency. I was told it's because I was on a mac pro. Dont waste your time or your money on this.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Audio Recording Interface:
This little piece of hardware (tough as a rock) is an amazing addition to any musician and audio recordists. In my case I mostly use it for video production to record live wherever I go. You can use the Audiobox as your "external microphone" for your camera. Even if your camcorder have XLR inputs the AudioBox give you much more options and opportunities to record great audio (using Cubase LE, which is included). You can use phantom power microphone without any problem, just press 48V button and you are set. A con of using it for video production is that you will need to spend a little more time in post-production linking the audio with the video, but is not that bad.
It have two main outputs which you connect to a receiver. I try it out at home and it sounded incredible.
I'm also looking foward to record with my violin and along with my friend in the piano.
The AudioBox USB clearly have the power to record anything you want.
PROS
USB powered. No need for external power source.
In Mac is very easy to use, just plug it in and you are ready to go (no drivers needed) In Windows you need to install the included drivers.
Phantom Power (48V)
You can use it in many programs. I have use it in: Adobe Soundbooth, BoinxTV and Videoglide.
CONS
Cubase LE 4 have a high learning curve, so you will spent a few weeks learning how to use it.
