Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
I am a professional photographer and use the monitor for color print and web matching. The monitor has Excellent contrast and color capabilities. The only reason that I did not give the product 5 stars was that I was disappointed it did not have full manual control over brightness and color so that I could use the standard color and brightness software that came with the x-rite eye-one display 2 puck. The software that came with the monitor however does a good job at matching the color after some experimentation with the settings.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
I have struggled with color calibration since beginning in photography. I've tried to get around investing in a monitor, but am so sorry now that I didn't take this step sooner. It is saving me time, money (from discarded prints), and anguish! My photographs are coming back from the printer exactly as I see them. Easy to set up and use. I've recommended it to other photographers and would buy it again!

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
I bought this monitor and added it to my 2007 iMac for photo editing and soft-proofing. The web reviews regarding Eizo are superb; unlike many options out there, this Eizo model is optimized for low brightness operation ... perfect for soft proofing. The monitor is absolutely the perfect size when paired with a 20" iMac. Hook up was a no brainer; my iMac instantly recognized the monitor and I was calibrating in no time. The included calibration software is the simplest I've ever used. You need to purchase a calibration device separately (you use Eizo's software with someone else's hardware). If you are connecting this monitor to a Mac, you will need a Mini DVI to DVI-I adapter or a MiniDisplay Port to DVI-I adapter depending on your computer. Pay attention when you buy this adapter - Apple's adapters are DVI-D only and will not work with the DVI-I cable supplied by Eizo. I found a Mini DVI to DVI-I adapter made by Dynex and it worked perfectly.I'm very happy with the monitor's performance. Colors are even edge to edge, and the ability to rotate from landscape to portrait is really useful. I've never operated two monitors before, and let me tell you, it's a big step up. I have photoshop tools open and expanded on one monitor and my image displayed full size on the other. It's a terrific way to work. The included hood also makes a big difference; it does a great job of shielding glare from overhead lights.[...] I'm very satisfied with this purchase ... highly recommended. If you are looking for a high-end graphic arts monitor but don't want to spend the really really big bucks, this monitor is a great choice.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
As a graphic designer I have found this monitor to be the most color accurate I have experienced. It needed very little calibration, color was very close right out of the box. I used the Mac OS X monitor calibration software which seemed to be sufficient. Not having purchased the optional sensor I was concerned I would be at a disadvantage but it seems unnecessary. Very compatible with my G5, the computer actually runs faster now than with the old CRT.
Only drawback is the color preview in layout programs is very off. Looks great in Photoshop and Acrobat pdfs but Quark is not even close. Don't know the cause, have not researched a remedy yet.
Well worth the cost. Wish I could have afforded the larger size.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
This is a very high quality replacement to my aging Sony display - great size, color gamut. Elegant stand for hiding cables. Driven by two computers, and easy to switch between them. My only disappointment relates to the documentation: irrelevant, and missing useful information. For a monitor this expensive, I'm surprised Eizo hasn't devoted more resource to this last detail.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
After doing much research through the miriad of monitors available I decided this was the one for my needs.
I intend to use it primarily for digital photo viewing and editing and secondary for normal every day use .
Once I got through the set up and opened some of my digital photos, I was amazed at the clarity and quality of the display, which is even better than I had anticipated.I have yet to do the color calibration profiling but settings out of the box are excellant. The ony thing I found a little lacking were the set up instructions which leave out some details.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG222W 22.2" Widescreen LCD Display:
I did not give 5 Stars because I am not a "pro" so I don't know what a more expensive monitor can do. I'll tell you that this monitor has made all the difference in the world when it comes to my workflow in photo/image work. The colors are great, set up is extremely quick and easy, calibration is a snap. Some may be concerned about the 200cd/m2 max. or the suggested 80cd/m2 recommended luminance setting. NO problem, this monitor is plenty bright.
I would highly recommend this to the advanced amateur or pro who wants a great monitor without spending $2000 and up.
