Comments about Ansmann Energy 8 Plus Battery Charger (100-240V):
This is a great charger--if you don't need service. It does work very well while it works. Mine failed after 14 months. It has a 3 year guarantee but includes no information about how to return a defective unit. An e-mail to the manufacturer in Germany got me no response. B&H service promptly sent me the contact information for Ansmann's US distributor, Horizon, but they did not answer e-mail either. I tried the phone number, which B&H also provided me, but their system would not even take messages, saying 'good-bye' when I keyed in the extension for service. I tried four times. On a whim, hours later, I decided to try a fifth (!) time, and then I got a person, who said that they had 'been on the road.' He told me that they don't handle service and that I should contact another firm, http://www.hpmarketingcorp.com. He did not have a phone number and told me to look them up on the web. A very courteous person answered at HPMarketing and said I could send them the defective unit, so I am hoping I will get a replacement. However, I think this is unacceptable. A product like this should come with contact information for service, and someone should actually answer the phone and e-mail. It is disrespectful to expect customers to waste this much time and go through this much frustration if the product fails. If mine is not replaced, I will look for an alternative brand.

Comments about Ansmann Energy 8 Plus Battery Charger (100-240V):
I have used this product for recharging AA rechargeable batteries for a digital camera. All I can say is that it is well worth the money spent! It chargers faster and more efficiently that my other chargers and batteries charged with this charger last longer than my other chargers. I chose this model because of limited shelf space and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat given the same choices. Each battery is analyzed and charged separately - something a lot of cheaper chargers wont do.

Once you get the hang of the meaning behind the various lights, this charger is great! I used these in my Canon flash, and this charger with Ansmann batteries lasted at least twice as long as any other batteries I've used. A smart charger is the way to go!

Comments about Ansmann Energy 8 Plus Battery Charger (100-240V):
I wish I had bought this earlier. I bought this after ruining a set of batteries with cheap charger. I also found that the old charger did not fully charge the batteries, maybe because it did not monitor the charge of individual cells. This one does, and it seems to work flawlessly. The only drawback is that it is designed for several types of cells and therefore can only handle 6 AA at once. Since many flashes take 4, it would be better to do without some of the others and allocate space for 8 AA.

powering up our 24 AA's for speedlight use. Quick, reliable charging.
Went with the smaller unit because of cost, should have picked up the bigger unit instead but happy with the performance. Has high ratings and that's what I was looking for.

Comments about Ansmann Energy 8 Plus Battery Charger (100-240V):
I bought this charger to replace an older/different manufacturer one which was overheating the batteries. Also, the charge on the batteries often didn't last long. This new charger does not overheat the batteries and, so far, the charges seem to last a lot longer. AA batteries for remote control devices are working much better now. This charger also seems pretty quick.

Comments about Ansmann Energy 8 Plus Battery Charger (100-240V):
This is one of those products that immediately after you try it you regret you haven't bought it years ago. Obviously I haven't bought it years ago because [$] is more than I was prepared to spend for a battery charger until I got fed up with wasting my time trying to manage batteries.Unfortunately when your work and/or your life depends on rechargeable batteries you end up with dozens of cells that are very hard to manage and charge. Most chargers require matching pairs of cells and are extremely picky. This charger just charges them individually and gives you an idea if the cells are any good. It's a must have for anyone using rechargeable batteries extensively. It's also a big help for people using devices requiring single batteries (toothbrushes and bicycle lights in my case). There's a bigger version of it but i prefer the smaller version because their industrial design is embarrassing and you can't hide the bigger unit anywhere...

This charger is very easy to use and does everything it states it will do. It does take some time to charge the batteries, but it is well worth the wait. I have tried other chargers in the past, but this one is superior to them. I just wish that I had bought this charger years ago.
