Great product. Huge capacity, fast.
The only problem is you only can use it in one computer at a time.

Comments about Iomega 1TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
It is such a relief to finally have a drive with enough memory that I can save everything in one place. Hopefully it will take me at least a few years to fill this drive! I keep my Itunes library on it (not enough space on my computer hard drive) and use it for backup of everything else, from a few different computers. It lives under some other things on my desk, just behind my computer, so it's out of the way yet convenient. Now, I haven't had it for that long so I can't speak to reliability, but so far it's very convenient and I love it!

I had this drive up and running in a few minutes. I use it with my iMac. I also use it attached to my Pogoplug ([@]). It works beautifully. It's fast, it's quiet and it appears to run cool. It also looks nice.I highly recommend this external hard drive

I use the product to archive photos and videos. It is fast, silent and reliable. The design is so attractive and compact that I decided to buy a Mac Mini to put on top of it and get rid of my Windows Desktop the size of an apple crate! My next buy is going to be the 2Tb model

Comments about Iomega 1TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
I use this HD as a backup for my main HD and to store all my pics, music and videos. I bought this one as a replacement for a different brand I used to own. This one is much more quiet and matches perfectly with my mac mini.

Comments about Iomega 1TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
I do a lot of video editing, both for a production house and freelance. Anyone else in this industry knows just how vital storage is. I had 2 previous external hard drives prior to this purchase, but alas, they were merely USB drives.
I've been editing more HD footage lately so FIREWIRE was my number one criteria when it came to searching for a new external. Now granted, this drive is not FIREWIRE 800, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but the 400 is still plenty fast.
Also the price was another category I was concerned about. For the price, this drive is excellent. Something else, which I think is just a "nice to have" is the design. It matches my iMac brilliantly. It is fairly compact and stackable.
My only suggestion to others out there shopping around for their next storage device, get a bigger one. I've only had this for a short time and the HD footage is chewing up space like you wouldn't believe. Get at least 2TB if you can.
Over all, the 1TB MiniMax External Hard drive by Iomega has been one of my better purchases.

Comments about Iomega 1TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
I purchased two of these to be used with our Mac Minis in our Graphics Department. The size to price ratio was comparable to others, but we have used Iomega drives for several years now and are familiar with their build quality. The stackable design allows it to be placed under the Mac Mini to conserve space. The variety of connection options is also a big plus. The drive even comes with cables for any connection option. The drive came already formatted for Mac and the installation took less time than it took to remove the drive from its box. If you are looking for an external drive for your Mac system I would highly recommend this particular drive. Even if you don't have a Mac Mini, the design of this drive compliments any of the other Mac designs.

Comments about Iomega 1TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
So many things claim to be plug-and-play but aren't. This was truly a breeze. I took it out of the box, plugged it into the wall, plugged it into my MacBook, and turned it on. Poof! There it was. I drag-and-dropped a bunch of photos onto it. Poof! There they were. Easy, easy, easy.
The box says it can be connected to an Airport Extreme and used as a shared drive. I haven't tried this yet, but love the idea.

Comments about Iomega 1TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
I hooked this up to my home computer for photo storage to free up some space. Since the MAC minis don't let you add memory or space, you have to go external. And since Apple owners seem to be interested in aesthetics, this is a nice choice. It blends in well. The extra usb and firewire ports are a good bonus.
I was waiting for a while for the price to drop, just because 1tb size is getting more common. Finally decided it was already a good enough deal.
Good idea, iomega!

I purchased two of these for backing up large video and music files. I normally buy Seagate stuff but needed something a little less expensive. I've already filled them up and will buy these drives again. They stack nicely and go great with a Mac.
