This dock works as expected with my Ipod Touch. I've only used it for audio. It charges the Ipod and displays the playlist and music selection on both the ipod and the tuner. Very easy plug-and-play functionality. I also have a 3rd Generation Ipod (the first that worked with Windows) that will NOT work or even charge with this dock. My wife has had an iPod Touch with hours of music on it for about a year. I finally purchased the YDS-11SL iPod Dock and am very glad that I did. Set-up could not have been easier. Just take the dock out of the box, attached the supplied cord that runs from the dock to your Yamaha receiver, and you're done. It works with the Yamaha remote control and is very easy to use. No downsides to this product. I highly recommend it to anyone with an iPod and a Yamaha receiver!

The product is good but somewhat I recieve clearer sound from a high quality ipod plug to RCA cable.

What I love is that I can control the iPod from the Reciever control.

Best thing is the B&H price, I think I'll hate the YDS-11SL if it were too expensive.

This IPod docking station, to say the least is easy to set up. Pull it out of the box, plug it in and you're ready to start using it. It comes with 3 adapter cups that you need to install based on the type of IPod you are using. The cups are made from a white plastic, which I wasn't overly thrilled with, but they do the job. It would have been better if they were the same color as the base. Bottom line you can't beat the ease of this unit.

I HAVE AN 80 GIG IPOD CLASSIC AND A YAMAHA RXV863 RECEIVER. THE YDS-11SL LINKS THEM UP PERFECTLY. IDON'T EVEN USE CD'S ANYMORE. THE IPOD SOUNDS GREAT THROUGH THE YAMAHA.

I debated on buying this dock -- after all, why not just run a line from the ipod headphone jack to one of the inputs on my yamaha amp?

The dock is a MUCH better choice.

Being able to control the ipod music through the stereo (rather than a secondary remote, for example) is a definite plus. It doesn't sound like a big thing, but it definitely is convenient -- now that I have it, I would never consider going back to a manual method (e.g., control ipod by hand).

The yahama amp shows the ipod data on a TV screen if you have it hooked up, but only if the output is going to the "main" zone (at least on my amp). That's not a problem with the dock, of course; it's just how they chose to use the ipod/dock data in the amp. It's a little bit of a bummer, but it's ok.

The dock itself was trivial to install -- you can only plug the plug in one way; how hard is that? My ipod classic wobbles a little bit in the dock, but we never touch it once we put it in the dock, so it really doesn't matter.

Overall, we're quite happy with the dock (the same dock at best buy was about 2x as much as it was here!).

With this dock is a joy listening music from your iPod on your home theater . Only you connect the iPod to the dock and easily you can manage the iPod from the Receiver remote control. If your receiver is video capable, you can access and view the videos you have on your iPod thru your home theater.

this deffo makes it easier to listen to your itouch/ipod without extra cables as it plugs straight into the back of the receiver. Downside is my 2nd gen i touch does not fit very well into the base( it does come with different mounts to help support the I pod/ I touch but they don't seem to have one that fits the 2nd Gen.
