Comments about Lowepro Inverse 100 AW Beltpack (Leaf Green with Black Trim):
I bought this bag solely for day hikes. I have a larger bag in which I normally keep my camera along with all it's accessories.
I considered buying the larger size but I'm glad I didn't. This one has plenty of room for a D80 with 18-200 zoom plus 35mm prime, filters, and then some. Waist straps are comfy and cinch straps compress the bag adequately. I like that the straps also tuck away when you're not using them, not to mention the built in rain cover. The camera compartment is easy to open with one quick motion.
The only complaint I have is that the 2 zippers that open the top aren't tied together meaning when you close it, you must either use 2 hands or zip one zipper at a time. Not a big deal. I noticed another reviewer fixed that with a shoelace or something. Good idea.

I bought this pack for a trip to Rwanda I was taking. I wanted something small enough to just hold my Nikon D200 with my 28-80 lense and one extra telephoto lens(Tamron 70-300). I wanted to pack light. This was perfect. Some hip packs are huge and stick out from the body too far. This was a comfortable and versatile pack. I was able to pack my pertinent extras and even a water bottle too. I was able to walk around and not feel exhausted from all the weight I was bearing. I like that the hip belt can be tucked in out of the way when I wanted to use the shoulder strap. Love the added water proof cover in case of torrential downpour. Luckily, I didn't end up needing it in Africa. Would recommend this product to anyone. Thanks Lowepro for a great item.

Used the bag to haul around camera and extra lens for a vacation trip.
The bag is very convenient to get to the camera and lens. It holds two small water bottles on the outside for those hot days. It holds a tripod on the bottom of the bag. It has a great rain cover that is hidden under the bag that's very easy to install quickly.
The belt didn't work too well for me, but that may be just my body type. I stuck with the shoulder strap, which seemed to work okay. There wasn't enough room for a larger lens, even by rearranging the padding in the bag, although a larger lens could probably sit in one of the water pouches.

This bag is nice but don't expect to carry many goodies. Has enough room for a small camera body and a couple lenses, plus some small items like batteries. Nice but kinda small.

Contents of bag/Capacity - I use the bag to carry a Nikon d90 with the Nikon 18-200 lens attached. This leaves me room for my sb600 speedlight and Nikon 35mm/1.8. I don't think I could get much else in the main compartment of the bag, however there are also designated pockets for memory cards and outer zipper pocket. I've been very pleased with the capacity.
I've only carried the bag with the shoulder strap and haven't tried hiking with it yet. The shoulder strap seems comfortable. I'm 5'6" medium build and it seemed a little bulky around my waist but I expected this for the capacity.
I've also found the zipper top flap easy to open for camera access -- there are two zippers that meet in the middle so I can pull the top flap rather quickly to access my camera.

Small enough to avoid being a burden when hiking.
Big enough to carry two small Nikon DSLR bodies, both with a lens attached, many memory cards, a lens cleaning pen,... or one camera with an extra lens, a flash, an air blower.
Opening and closing are easy.
Even with the shoulder strap, it is easy to change from wearing it in the back, on the side, or in front of you to get your gear.

My mom uses a fanny pack when hiking with her camera to carry all the other stuff she likes to have with her. This was the perfect gift because now she can even put her camera gear in there.
This bag is built well like all Lowepro products. Great adjustments and easy access were the first thing my mom noticed. "It has pockets for everything" she said. If you don't need a backpack but would like to carry a few things this is the option for you.

Comments about Lowepro Inverse 100 AW Beltpack (Leaf Green with Black Trim):
This is the bag if you have a medium format rangefinder and you love to hike and travel light. Will take a second lens, plenty of film, some odds and ends, and a water bottle or two, if you want. Rides well just as a belt pack but there is also the added convenience and safetey of a shoulder strap, just in case you forgot about traveling light. Depending on how you wear the bag, on the back, side or front, the shoulder strap requires a bit of adjusting, which is understandable. The belt and bag pulls are awesome and provide a really secure and snug quality fit. The fact that the belt can be made to disappear gives the bag an extra dimension, as well. Probably, my favorite Lowepro Bag, since it will accomodate my DSLR, also.
