The good:
+ Adequate space to carry a SLR with a zoom (28-300 mm) lens, a flash unit, water bottle, and miscellaneous gear.
+ Enough padding to ensure a comfortable fit around your waist.
+ A padded shoulder strap that allows you to both support the pack while carrying it on your waist, and carry the bag as a shoulder bag.
+ Easy to swing the bag around to your front and access equipment. Zippers allow you to quickly access equipment.
+ Nice rain cover
The not so good:
+ Minimal space to carry any bulky gear such as a lens hood.
+ Straps must be loosened to access misc. gear.
Summary:
Beltpack is great for a day hike. I have a LowePro backpack that i use for airline travel and extented use where I need room for snacks and non photographic equipment

I primarily do family, event and nature photography. I've been looking for the beltpack that would allow me to travel relatively light but still carry my 70-200 zoom. I prefer the beltpack approach for doing this.
Seeing the release of the Lowepro Inverse series left me with hope based on description and my general experience with Lowepro bags. This bag however did not meet my expectations.
As usual with Lowepro the quality of the bag in construction is high and the the bag is generally versatile enough. The removalable/adjustable inserts allow for configuration as I like. In addition it is attractive.
It could use a few more pockers. However, my main complaint is that once loaded with my D200 and 18-20 zoom, the bag rolled over from the top when strapped around my waist. I could not figure out any combination of cinch straps or position that would alleviate the rollover. It just appeared the bag was too top heavy. I think a strap that pulled the top closer to the back would alleviate the problem.
Someone carrying lighter equipment or in a different configuration may not experience the same problems I had. For me I'm returning it and will continue my search for a usable beltpack.

I bought this bag to replace a Lowepro Off Road model that I have carried for 10+ years. The belt pack plus shoulder strap design is very versatile, because you can use it with a day pack (for non-photo gear) or carry just with the shoulder strap, such as when traveling by plane.
I pack it with my Canon EOS7D, plus two lenses (18-135 and 70-300), Speedlite 580, spare batteries, charger, and small rocket blower. The compression straps on the bottom hold my mono-pod and a jacket. Outside pockets can hold water bottles. I got caught in a torrential thunderstorm while shooting a horse show and can say that the waterproof cover worked just as advertised.

Roomy enough to carry 2 lenses with follow focus gears plus batteries and other small things. The shoulder strap helps supporting the weight.

Comments about Lowepro Inverse 200 AW Beltpack (Arctic Blue with Black Trim):
I needed a camera bag for carrying a camera with a 70-200mm lens while downhill skiing. I have used a backpack bag in the past but it was difficult sitting on a chair lift and was not as accessible as I would like. It was adjustable and fit well whether wearing in back or front. I could easily ski with it in front or back. It protected the camera well. With a longer lens the camera is carried horizontally. Would have preferred to carry the camera vertical but then the height of pack would have not been comfortable while sitting and carrying it front. When the camera is carried horizontal the space is not well used. There is room for another couple of lenses / flashes, but the way the space is used it doesn't work well.

I needed a waist/fanny bag to fit my digital SLR (Canon 5D) for when I go hiking. I love it's size and fit but...
I gave this bag three stars because the belt, while comfortable, just won't secure tight enough to support the bag when it's full. I had to use another strap of my own as a shoulder support. Fortunately the bag has two plastic loops to accommodate a strap. It is a great size and will fit my Canon 5d with a 70-200mm zoom, or with a smaller lens and plenty of room for additional lenses. I wish it would secure with just the belt straps but once you add the shoulder strap the bag is very versatile and great for romping through the woods or walking around town.

It will take an adjustment to get used to the waist strap since I have been using a backpack but it is so much more accessable to get to the camera in a hurry and I can still pack ID, phone, water and bear spray. Used it today for the first time and love it!

Handy pack for hauling a Nikon D300s with two additional lenses (including the 70 - 300mm). I was easily able to swing the pack around to the front to swap out lenses while still having a small day pack on as well. Took it for a weeks worth of hiking in Banff and Yoho National Park. A must have for hikers!

Comments about Lowepro Inverse 200 AW Beltpack (Arctic Blue with Black Trim):
good storage capacity, however it's use as a beltbag is limited. It hangs at at least a 30% angle away from the body and the front pocket "keys, cellphones, etc" needs higher side material to keep from having things fall out. The side mesh pocket for "water bottles, etc" are unusable if you tighten the side straps to help stabilize the bag.
The saving grace is the shoulder strap, without it the bag is very hard to use at it's described features...It should be sold as a belt supported shoulder bag.

I have bought 3 backpacks & a sling bag for camera gear. This is best suited for me, 5'4" female. Fits snug on lower back, does not sweat. Very comfortable. Can hold 2 nikon d90, and 18-105,& 70-300 lenses. Tight, but it works. Use it for hiking & local events.
Could be about 1" deeper inside, great bag for the money.

Comments about Lowepro Inverse 200 AW Beltpack (Arctic Blue with Black Trim):
This product was bought to use when traveling. It appears to be well constructed. I bought the bag for field use with the intent that I would be able to carry a few lenses and have quicker access to them compared to a backpack I had used in the past.
Other reviews I read about this bag led me to believe it could hold a DSLR body, several lenses including a 70-200VR lens, and small odds and ends. I did not find this to be the case at all.
In addition, no matter how I tried to adjust it, I could never get a comfortale fit with the bag when it was loaded with equipment.
I had high expectations but unfortunately this bag did not meet my needs.

Excellent for travel, carries just enough stuff. Or, a dayhike...anytime you're going to be out and about and don't want to carry all your stuff around, this bag is just right. Easy to make too heavy, but if your selective about what you want to bring there's no problem. Waist straps are wide and very comfortable. Can be worn in back or on the side or in front. If worn on side, the shoulder strap can be used to support some of the weight. I carry my Xsi w/battery grip plus 2 extra lenses, or one extra lense and a flash, and my tripod straps to the bottom. I'm quite happy with this bag.

I write to update an earlier review. My wife and I just returned from a 10 day trip to Italy. The Lowe Pro Inverse 200 AW Beltpack was terrific. I used all parts of it, including the rain protection wrap. It provided great support for the D80, a variety of filters, memory cards, a charger and a few other items (including the aforementioned glasses). This product really delivers as advertised and is well worth the price.

I bought this waist pack because my traditional camera bag was causing neck and back pain. This is an excellent product that provides comfort and security for my Nikon D80 and associated gear. It has a small compartment that permits me to carry either my clear or sun glasses as appropriate.
During a recent trip to the Grand Canyon, I was able to move with complete freedom and assurance that my camera gear would remain secure. This is all upside and nothing bad.

I have used the bag 2 or 3 times. It is the perfect size to hold a body and 70-200 f2.8, a 2nd lense and flash. comfortable to wear and the shoulder heps keep the bag from sagging and allows the bag to be used like a sling bag, unbuckle and swing around
