I broke two levers (upper & lower) on my vintage 12 lb. Bogen Manfrotto 3036 tripod, with the original geared, round column. Thanks to a forum posting by Henry Posner, I looked at the B&H website and located these hard to find levers. After a quick installation, I was again able to lower and raise the tripod leg; the upper and lower levers have different length screws so I had to use one of the original screws with the upper replacement lever. Before the repair, I was told by local camera dealer, that with the damaged levers my tripod had no resale value but maybe could be sold for parts. For [$] I repaired a tripod that would have cost over $200 to replace.I bought two extra parts just in case...

Needed to replace a broken lever on my older tripod. (Bogen 3021). This was the exact part I needed and the price was excellent.

Even though I knew this was the updated version of the leg lock I needed - I bought it and modified it to work. But I've been rebuilding and modifying my 20 year old Bogen tripod for years - just can't give it up to a new one - yet.

Two of the original cast-aluminum clamps on my 20-yr old 055 tripod broke the same day. Ordered six of these to replace all of the leg locks. Easy install. No issues.

Comments about Replacement Leg Lock Lever for Select Manfrotto Tripods:
Despite the part number I got from Manfrotto's parts diagram this lever has been changed from design of the one I had. The part stripped almost immediately. The lack of help from Manfrotto's web site was very frustrating, I had to go to a vendors site to get anything useful. In the end I threw the monopod away and got one from another manufacturer, I no longer have any faith in their products.

This put my ancient tripod back into service. The broken lever on my tripod was of an earlier design and no longer available as a part. But with a bit of modification, I was able to make this one work fine. This comes with all the hardware.

I was taking pictures at 1am of a bridge being set in place and the weather was very cold at 10 degrees and when I turned the tripod lever to unlock the leg it snapped. I own 4 of these Manfrotto 3221W Tripods and it is nice to be able to get a replacement part when needed. This is the first time I've ever needed a replacement part for a Manfrotto.

Easy to install and didn't have to buy the whole new lock. Just make sure it's the right one for your tripod as from what I understand there are two types that look pretty much the same. One's a single and the other is a double lock.
Comments about Replacement Leg Lock Lever for Select Manfrotto Tripods:
If you have the older single spiral lever these will not work properly. they do not make enough tension to hold the legs. However if you are good with tools you can use a dremel, or a sanding bit in your drill and file down the dual spiral to easily make a single spiral.Look at the bottom of your original lever for a reference. Or check out this page.[@]

Comments about Replacement Leg Lock Lever for Select Manfrotto Tripods:
I ordered a set of 6 of these locking levers as 3 had broken on my Manfrotto 075B tripod. Easy to replace. Trick is to hand tighten knob just enough to stop rattle but no tighter. Works great. Use the original bolts and these levers can be used on either upper or lower tripod extensions. I was unable to order from Manfrotto stockists! Thanks very much B & H

This didn't work on my 3021 tripod which is old enough that it uses "single spiral" levers (R055.04). You need to replace the entire locking mechanism.

The lock levers fit exactly right on my Manfrotto Bogen tripod.
Comments about Replacement Leg Lock Lever for Select Manfrotto Tripods:
these work and not hard to install, but slightly different than the old parts on my bogen 3021: the length of the cylindrical part is a bit longer than on my old levers, therefore the stop (ie the ridges at the head of the lever) do not hit the stops on the leg clamp part of the tripod. Still, they work, just need to take care in tightening, since the stops don't function anymore.

I have a strong attachment to my old Bogen tri pod. The new locking levers extend its usefulness, save me a lot of money and let the good grips fall to the bottom of my kit bag.

Comments about Replacement Leg Lock Lever for Select Manfrotto Tripods:
This lever is plastic so time will tell how well it holds up. The original on my trusty old tripod (15+ years old now) was metal. This was easy to replace. The only trick is adjusting the nut to allow just the right clamping force - enough to keep the leg from collapsing, but not so tight that the lever might break. Once you adjust for that it works great.

This lever replaced one that was broken on my monopod a while back. It went on simply with no problems. My monopod is now back in full service.

Got it to replace a broken latch on my 3021 monopod. Quick and easy job. Instructions would have helped. First unlatch the old lock lever, then pull out the black plastic screw cover (on the other side). Then you can loosen the nut and replace it with the new one.
