The Azden 105 Series Wireless Microphone Systems offer the flexibility of frequency agile operation and compact components at a modest price. With up to 92 selectable UHF frequencies, users can rely on the 105 series for clear reception in any scenario. This system includes the 105UPR camera mountable receiver and 15HT handheld microphone.
The Azden UPR 105 receiver is compact and includes a built-in shoe mount for easy camera attachment. A 1/8" (3.5mm) mini output connects to the audio inputs on cameras with the supplied cable. An optional cable (Azden MX1) provides an XLR output. In addition a separate 1/8" (3.5mm) output with independent level control provides headphone monitoring.
The Azden 15HT also features 92 selectable frequencies. Its electret-condenser capsule features a uni-directional (cardioid) polar pattern that reduces residual audio that can cause unwanted noise and feedback. An On/Off switch is provides for added control and two AA batteries provides between 6 to 8 hours of operation.

Overall I am happy with the purchase. I used this mic as an interview mic for a video at a concert venue. The mic picked up the speaker well and dulled out the noise in the backgound well. It has a nice indicator light on the reciever to let you know when the hand held mic is turned on or off. The sound quality is reasonable; not great, but not bad either. The mic feels a little light. I'm afraid of what might happen if it get dropped. For the money, I give it 4 stars.

I needed a wireles mic for infrequent use on my Panasonic AG-DVC30 camcorder to supplement the onboard shotgun. I used it for the first time the other night on the podium at a retirement party and in 2 hours of continuous use, it was a solid performer. It sounds great. I like that I will be able to buy the lav transmitter and use the same receiver. The handheld mic doesn't quite have a "pro" feel, but it seems to work well.

We're pretty happy with this piece of gear. We're not using it for its intended purpose, though. We are using it as an add-on wireless mic to use with an Anchor Audio portable sound system. When we bought our Anchor system, the people controlling the purse strings didn't think we needed a wireless mic...then about a year later they decided they did, and challenged me to find something that would work. I originally had bought the bottom-end Samson wireless ENG mic system, but that system was discontinued, so this time I bought this Azden gear. Setup actually seems simpler with this one than the Samson. Especially nice is that there's only one switch - off-standby-on, and that applies to the receive too; whereas with the Samson there is a separate power and audio switch. I have a group of relative luddites using this mic system on a nearly daily basis, several times each day, and they have not had to call me with problems - so that is a pretty strong endorsement in its ease of use and quality for price.
