Simple design, but extremely useful. The three bubble levels make removing and repositioning unnecessary. Very handy for changing from horizontal to vertical. Stays in shoe tightly, but not so tight that I worry about breaking either it or my camera. Easy to read from any angle. The only drawback is the price. I still can't figure out why such a little piece of plastic costs so much. Oh well. It does make my job easier, and that makes it worth while.

Its a cube that fits on the flash hot shoe mount and has 2 spirit levels (one bar, one circle) on every available face. No matter how you angle the camera (aimed straight up or down, tilted left or right) you can level it on the tripod. On the negative side it can take some jiggling to remove it from the hot shoe which can contibute to movement in the tripod setting if you're too vigourous. A quick release mechanism would be helpful.

I picked up this item for my trip to Disney to help with landscape shots (day & night). I found it very easy to level the tripod for either horizontal or vertical shots. Also, the picture of the item makes it look somewhat opaque, which is not the case. Except for the yellow-colored liquid in the level itself, the item is crystal clear. The bubble marks on the 3 levels are a little wider than necessary, but does not detract from the intended performance.

The level is clear and easy to install.
Unfortunately, the base of the hot-shoe is not entirely flat and a bit soft so the level itself does not keep itself level, so one of the axis is usually off. At least there are two others! ...and my new camera provides the 3rd.
