The EverFocus EDR410MW/120 is a ruggedly built DVR capable of operating under high levels of shock and humidity. This makes it a perfect choice for use in law enforcement vehicles and similar mobile surveillance applications where the DVR is subjected to a good amount of shaking and bouncing. Other notable features include a network connection for remote Internet access, intelligent motion detection for heightened security and audio I/O ports for recording sound along with video.

• WiFi (802.11 b/g): This is one of the first DVRs available with a WiFi connection. The ability to communicate wirelessly with a network increases he DVR's mobility, allowing it to be easily taken from room to room or between different locations.

• MPEG-4 Compression: MPEG-4, with its ability to capture great looking images without overwhelming storage and network resources is particularly well suited as a compression medium for DVRs.

• Remote Internet Access and PTZ Control: Live and recorded video can be accessed from a remote location over the Internet. Additionally, network users can remotely access cameras to change settings as well as to operate a camera's PTZ functions.

• Hot Swappable Drive Bay: The drive bay in this DVR is designed to allow the drive to be easily removed without first having to power down the unit. This makes it easy to swap the drive from one DVR to another as well as archive recorded footage for long time periods.

• Intelligent Motion Detection w/Email Notification: An advanced motion detection function, configurable for size and area, can be applied to all camera inputs. By recording only important event footage, motion greatly cuts down on storage and network requirements and also makes it much easier to locate event material. Motion detection events can be sent as Email alerts over the network.

• Audio I/O Ports: Audio from up to two cameras can be recorded along with their video. An internal synchronization system ensures that sound is always recorded in sync with the video.

• Watchdog Function: An internal self diagnostic system continuously monitors the DVR's health, ensuring that an operator is not caught by surprise by a critical malfunction. It also has the ability to auto recover system settings following a power failure.

• Watermark Function: A digital watermark and time/date stamp can be applied to an image or sequence of images. This prevents them from being digitally altered, thus preserving their legal integrity.

• Stable LINUX Operating System: By incorporating an operating system based on LINUX technology, this DVR is able to maintain stable and reliable performance through all of its complex operations.
