JMI Telescopes makes the MOTODEC declination drive for the Meade 2080/2120 8" & 10" Fork Mount Scopes. Vibration-free, direct-drive declination adjustment is practically a necessity for any higher-magnification visual or imaging use, and users of this motor describe it as 'smooth as silk'.
In the case of the Meade 8" & 10" 2080/2120 scopes (which includes the Basic, LX2, LX3, LX5, LX6, LX10, MTS, & Premier versions), MOTODEC's electric declination motor is connected to the declination motor jack in the base of the telescope. It is controlled with the telescope's normal controller, but if you like you can buy an optional hand controller from JMI. This MOTODEC is a friction-driven motor which goes on and off the scope in mere seconds, and has a manual clutch for adjustment by hand as well.
