Comments about Manfrotto 190XDB with 701HDV Video Tripod System (Black):
Very smooth pans both horizontal and vertical with equal resistance results in very easy diagonal pans. Very easy to balance camcorder on head. Locking the pans causes very little movement even at full zoom. Tripod is very well made and sturdy, I'll hang a 5 lb weight on it when extra stability is required since it's fairly light for the 701 head. Between this kit and a Rode VideoMic, the level of quality of the proverbial 'home movie' has jumped dramatically. Both are money very well spent and the 190XDB tripod and 701HDV head exceed expectations (as does the VideoMic). Also small and light enough to use for photo - a real bonus though it looks pretty funny perching my small Canon A2000 on top of it...
