Simply put, this battery gives you that safety, of about 3 more hours of shooting,(give or take) with your FS-5. I have been in interviews, where is this a must, when power isn't handy. If your FS-5 has the 100GB drive (or more), I see no reason not to have this accessory. You may need it, depending on extended shooting.
